Ten years ago today, Pornhub, the premier online destination for adult content, stole our hearts and hours of precious time that could have been spent doing something far more productive. Since its humble launch in 2007, the streaming juggernaut has experienced a steady ascent in traffic. In November of its inaugural year, Pornhub accrued five million daily visits. By April 2009, that figure rose to 10 million. In February 2015, these numbers grew to 50 million.

When it comes to sexual orientation, three preferences instantly come to mind: heterosexuality, or the sexual interest in the opposite gender; homosexuality, the sexual interest in the same gender; and bisexuality, the sexual interest in both genders. Some also identify as asexual, which means they have no sexual interest in other people at all. Pansexuals are sexually interested in all people, regardless of gender.

Summer is finally upon us and, whether we admit it or not, the sultry season places added pressure on singles who hope to impress their date as they’re no longer confined to coffee shops and movie theatres due to near-freezing temperatures and mood-altering darkness. This is now a confirmed fact, as research from Match.com recently found more than three-quarters of singles feel more inspired to try something new on a date in the summer months.

Last year, the ménage à trois app 3nder (pronounced thrin-der) was forced to rename itself Feeld after Tinder sued the app for trademark infringement. It probably didn’t help that 3nder was publicly touting itself as “the Tinder for threesomes.” Despite the rebranding (and how difficult it is for any company to survive one), Feeld reports its network is 1.8 million members strongs.

Telling a little fib every now and then isn’t a big deal (I tell my editor everyday I think he’s amazing). Lying is inadvisable at best, but we all do it. In fact, research has found that the majority of us can’t even go 10 minutes without telling a lie, so no one should be getting all high and mighty here.

We need to stop perpetuating the myth that a bigger dick equates better sex. In fact, writing this essay already feels like a shout into the abyss; after all, what’s the point of taking down big dicks when almost every part of sociosexual culture in American is based on it.
