Please Don’t Send Me into Outer Space

The year was 1893. Pepsi. The end.

This week, we are joined once again by the host of the Clash of the Type-Ins podcast(http://rcveeder.net/clash/) to discuss the formative 90's sci-fi The Fifth Element. So, you may notice this episode is extra long, and the fact is, we could have talked about this movie and all it nuances (if that is a word that can be used in reference to this movie) for a few more hours. The over the top acting, the music, the accents!?!?! There is so much to pick apart and roll around in your brain.

If you love this movie, or hate this movie, write in to [email protected] and we'll read your story on the air! When did you first see the movie and how did it effect you at the time?

Sometimes a boring beverage leads to a goofy conversation.

This week, we took a ride on the randomizer into truly unknown territory, and ended up with the movie A Man Called Rage aka Rage from 1984. We have taken our first step into the phenomenon that was knock off Italian movies, and after this one I can say that we cannot wait for more. The cheesy music, the bad dubbing, the stunts that looked PAINfully realistic, all this added up to a bats*** good time! If you are interested in checking out the movie for yourself, it is up for free on youtube!

Abita Pecan Pie Soda: Liquid pie, what could go wrong? by Joel Torres, Aaron Cornelius, Sarah Roberts

This week, we enjoyed ourselves by watching the listener suggested movie Ladyhawke! A true tale of tragic love, one can almost get lost in the fantasy world of the movie, and then that funky beat drops. Alan Parsons Project guitar and electronica. I cannot get that music out of my head! After watching this movie, you will believe a wolf can love a hawk. When was the first time you saw this movie and how do you feel about it now? Please send in an email and we will read it on the air!

Rickey! Rickey! Rickey! Chris mas!

This week, we get our genes rated for compatibility with the movie Gattaca. There was a lot of Ethan Hawke starring vehicles back in the day, and this was one of the best. This cast is chock full of famous people though, in case you don't like HIS face. Uma Thurman, Xander Berkeley, Ernest Borgnine, Tony Shalhoub, Alan Arkin, and of course, Jude Law. If you are looking for a heavily styled movie with a social commentary that still speaks well today, look no further.

Lots of herbs in this thing. Worked pretty well, but not sure its really a soda.

Maybe we aren't cut out for this Mountain Dew lifestyle.
