The live team talks with Kirk H&J about their proprietary wireless charging system, called "Electric Transfer," for devices incapable of Qi wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S III, which was supposed to support inductive charging natively, requires replacing the back plate to enable Electric Transfer. To enable it on the iPhone, a special case is required, as there is no removable back plate. The system is available now, in the $50 to $70 range.

It is a well-known fact that Otterbox has the biggest name in protective cases. You can buy them at almost all retailers and they are made for every major handset. The one thing that has lacked in these cases is an extended battery.

Fear not; the newest entry in the Defender series includes an additional battery. The device is capable of doubling the battery life of an iPhone 5 and includes an app to allow you to monitor the remaining life of the battery.

The cases will be chargeable via micro USB and will be available as soon as Apple approves it and will sell for $129.

Single sign-on devices are pretty popular, with a cloud-based storage and a flash drive, both with password management included. What these devices require, however, is USB. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to do it on non-USB devices?

That is where YubiKey Neo comes in. This device, while supporting USB, also supports NFC. This could allow the possibility for a single sign-on between desktop computers, smartphones and tablets. The key is compatible with several types of password managers, including LastPass and PasswordSafe, meaning you don't have to recreate your existing password list.

You can get the original, non-NFC device now for $25 and the new NFC version for $50, though there is a back order on it.

Since the launch of Ford Sync, Ford has enhanced its install base, now including it in most of their vehicles. This is a great thing for Ford owners, as Sync is getting a pretty major enhancement this generation.

With the inclusion of Aha Radio, Amazon mp3, Glympse, The Wall Street Journal and The USA Today, there is almost nothing missing. The inclusion of newspapers sure sounds like a security issue, but you will be happy to know that the car will read you the newspaper as you drive, turning it into an eBook newspaper.

They have also opened the platform up for developers, and even our own network is getting prepared for the platform. The system can be upgraded by the user without having to go into the dealer, all via a USB stick.
