Portable power solutions are not a new concept, but do they all have to be so utilitarian looking? The answer to that question is an emphatic NO. myCharge announced a line of portable chargers that have both the power capabilities you need when away from the office and a collection of designs to match who you are.

The new line, which will include a Lightning connector edition, is expected in the second quarter, either April or May. Depending on the connector, the power capabilities and the style, the prices will range between $39 and $129.

LG has decided to embrace NFC in an interesting way: connecting your phone to your television. Instead of hunting for a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable to connect your phone, all you need is to get your phone close to the television in question.

Using Miracast as the communication foundation, anything that is displayed on the phone can be displayed on the television. The only requirement being the phone is close to the tag.

This is perfect for presentations with PowerPoint or collaborative document editing, all with the added bonus of not being physically tethered.

Several years ago I built a device to allow me to take the devices in my home entertainment center and watch them anywhere in my home. It required weeks of soldering in my free time and around a thousand feet of coaxial cable. It took a lot of time and a lot of resources.

IOGear has recognized that I am obviously not the only person in the world who would like this capability and has made it easier and significantly less expensive with their 5x2 HD Wireless Matrix. Similar to the existing 5x2 HDMI Matrix, this device adds the capability to push content wirelessly to the two televisions. With 5 inputs and 2 outputs, this device can definitely replace my setup and most of the cabling, and should be considered as a part of any multi-television households.

Photoflash has released the only licensed flash drive for Apple's iOS devices through the new Lightning connector. Considering how many people use their iPhone for photographs, despite its lens issues, the ability to save those photos without connecting the phone to a computer can be incredibly useful. If you can't have a microSD slot, this is the next best option.

Of course, being a flash drive, means you can transfer files onto the device as well. You also have dedicated app support, AirPlay integration, contact backup plus security features. All of this starts at $99 for an 8GB drive and move up from there.

It's not often than we see an alarm clock at CES; it is even less common for us to cover it. From time to time, however, someone will surprise us and we can't resist, and that is what we have here. Satzuma has announced an alarm clock that has features you wouldn't expect, like a 4-port USB hub.

Designed to look like a movie clapper, it features the USB hub, illuminated screens, snooze, creatively using the clapper itself, and multi-time display. If that's not enough for you, this little guy comes in in the $15-20 range.

Laser keyboards were certainly popular products at CES this year. What makes CTX Virtual Technologies' product stand out is the ability for it to also power your phone.

With an additional battery integrated into the device, you can power your phone and the keyboard at once. The convergence of a wonderfully functional keyboard and power source certainly makes this a keyboard to consider.
