  • Pocomucho Daily — Tuesday 4 August 2026
Tuesday, August 4th, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
Pukka Up has announced a special Eclipse boat party sailing out to Es Vedrà on August 12th. One of Ibiza's most dramatic natural backdrops, and now a party destination — details are still emerging but it's one to flag in the calendar if you're on the island that week.
Tomorrowland has dropped its official aftermovie for 2026, featuring footage of David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Steve Angello, Alok, Jonas Blue and more. If you were there, relive it. If you weren't, this is your highlight reel.
Sad news from Hungary. The Ozora Festival has been brought to an early close following two deaths on site — one person suffered a cardiac arrest, another died after a fall from stage decoration. The organizers ended the festival as a result. Our thoughts go to the families involved.
A significant legal moment for the AI music space. On July 31st, the 42nd Civil Chamber of the Munich Regional Court ruled that AI music generator Suno infringes copyright. The case was brought by GEMA, the German music rights organisation, and the court found in their favour under presiding judge Elke Schwager. A ruling that will be watched closely across the industry.
Two club closures in Germany to report. First, arkaoda — the Berlin club and cultural space — is shutting its doors at the end of August after almost nine years of operation. The founders say they're moving on to new projects and are looking for someone to take over the space. And in Munich, the Blitz Club held its closing weekend last week, bringing the curtain down on another cult venue. The farewell began on Friday — Munich's clubbing community came out to see it off properly.
Ferragosto weekend is nearly here and Italy's leading clubs have announced their music programmes for the long weekend. From Lignano Sabbiadoro to the Gallura coastline, via Jesolo, Tuscany and the Romagna Riviera — the country's club circuit is gearing up for one of the biggest party weekends of the Italian summer.
New York DJ, producer and label owner Derek Marin has passed away. A source from his circle confirmed to Resident Advisor that Marin died on July 31st. No cause of death was given. Marin had releases on Get Physical and Nervous, and had ties to the Berlin scene. Rest in peace.
And finally in the news — MySpace is coming back. The Vanderhook brothers, Chris and Tim, have officially confirmed plans to relaunch the iconic platform. They told Mashable they're waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. Myspace Tom will not be involved. For anyone who spent their formative years agonising over their Top 8, this one hits differently.
Right, what's on tonight. At Hï, it's East End Dubs back-to-back with Franky Rizardo, joined by Obskür, Ale De Tuglie, Paco Osuna, and Melanie Ribbe. Pacha has Disclosure and KAYTRANADA — that's a big one. Amnesia's Metamorfosi night brings together Joseph Capriati, Alisha, Ben Klock, Ellen Allien and Anfisa Letyago. 528 has Pikes Presents with Bonobo, Optimo Espacio and Bushwacka!. Cova Santa hosts PIV Ibiza with Chez Damier, DXNBY, Ozzie Guven and Rio Tashan. And Chinois has the C.R.A.F.T. Ibiza night featuring Hernán Cattáneo, Albano Bastonero and Matías Vila.
    That's all folks!

  • Pocomucho Daily — Monday 3 August 2026
Monday, August 3rd, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
Jamie Jones is joining the Feels Like Eclipse Festival lineup, with tropical scenes promised. No further details yet, but the name alone suggests something worth watching.
NTS Radio has unveiled 18 new summer residents, and it's a genuinely eclectic bunch. Panda Bear and Sonic Boom, Carmen Villain, DJ SWISHA and Manara are among the headliners of the cohort, alongside French-Mongolian multi-instrumentalist Céline Dessberg, Sydney hardcore punk band SPEED, hyper K-pop crew SYSTEM SEOUL, and Nigerian Mara artist Azzi On The Beat. This comes off the back of NTS celebrating its 15-year anniversary.
Jean-Michel Jarre has announced his first-ever book. Titled Machines: A History of Electronic Music, it's out October 8th via Thames and Hudson, and will trace the roots of the sound through photographed examples and written contributions from key figures including Richie Hawtin, Johnny Marr, Gary Numan, Armin van Buuren, and members of New Order.
Fred again.. and LATIN MAFIA spent two days in a Mexico City studio recording an entire mixtape on a non-stop livestream. That's the story. Respect the commitment.
Berlin club and cultural space arkaoda is shutting down after nearly nine years. The founders say they want to dedicate themselves to new projects and are looking for someone to take over operations. Another chapter closes in Berlin's ever-shifting club landscape.
Over in Zurich, Kauz Klub was forced to cancel a planned dayrave in Hirzel at short notice after its permit was revoked. The event had been scheduled for August 1st with around 400 guests expected, and the club has described the situation as causing enormous financial damage.
Moldovan trance producer Andrew Rayel is marking a milestone — the 500th episode of his Find Your Harmony mix show. He's been running the show and its accompanying label for years, and the 500th episode is set to be a proper celebration.
A useful tool for the record-hunting obsessives among you: Trackmatch now links track IDs directly to Discogs and Bandcamp, making it easier to go from catching a record in a mix to actually owning it. And on a related note, Decoded Magazine has brought back its Mix of the Month DJ Competition — entries close August 20th if you want to throw your hat in.
This week's records worth knowing: Aquarian, Frits Wentink, Mano Le Tough and DJ Koze, Remcord, Jonathan Kaspar, Sam Goku, and The Mountain People all have releases in the latest batch of reviewed records from Groove Magazine.
Right, what's on tonight in Ibiza. Pacha has Sonny Fodera, Jayda G, Danny Howard and Laeet. Over at Amnesia, it's Kettama presenting the Steel City Closing Party with Skin On Skin, Samba Boys and Angel Lee. Chinois hosts La Troya with Mousse T, Fat Tony, Oscar Colorado and Rampini. And if you want the marathon option, Circoloco at DC10 is loaded — ANOTR, Ben UFO, Bradley Zero, Chloé Caillet, Halfprint, Jamback, Mochakk, Nicolas Lutz, Seth Troxler, Sonja Moonier, Sossa, Tania Vulcano and Wildealer. That's a lineup.
    That's all folks!

  • Pocomucho Daily — Friday 31 July 2026
Friday, July 31st, 2026. I'm your host Ben D-M-Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
It is a massive night on the island — we'll get to that shortly — but first, let's run through the news.
John 'Jammin' Collins, elder statesman of Underground Resistance and a cornerstone of Detroit's techno scene, has passed away. Collins spent half a century helping shape the city's musical landscape, holding the scene together through decades of change. A true pillar. Rest in power.
Britta Mischer has directed a new documentary titled *Love is Stronger — From Loveparade to Rave The Planet*, contrasting the mythology of the Loveparade era with the present-day Rave The Planet movement. In conversation about the film, Mischer reflects on egos, the passage of time, and what she describes as smiling faces you could always find despite the money and the madness. One to watch.
Dave Angel — British electronic music pioneer — has shared the first single from his upcoming album *A Time And Place*, which he's describing as his most personal and accomplished work to date. The track is called *Réflexion* and features a celebrated collaborator whose full details weren't confirmed. Album incoming.
Nia Archives, Dave, and Kojey Radical have all been shortlisted for the 2026 Mercury Prize. The winner will be announced on the 22nd of October at Newcastle's Utilita Arena. Strong shortlist.
Over in India, electronic music artists are throwing their weight behind the youth-led Cockroach movement — formally known as the Cockroach Janta Party. After two months of Gen Z-driven protests, ranging from satirical online campaigns to mass street demonstrations, India's education minister resigned last week in what supporters are calling a significant blow to the ruling BJP government. Artists in the Indian electronic scene are now publicly voicing solidarity with the movement as the deeper struggle continues.
Sammy Virji is heading back to New York for two nights on the Brooklyn Waterfront, bringing his UK garage sound to one of the few cities outside Britain that has genuinely embraced it. Virji has been central to putting UKG in front of global audiences, and it sounds like NYC is ready to receive him again.
Desert Hearts have announced Microfest — a new intimate boutique festival experience taking place at Deloro Valley in Northern California from October 1st to 5th. A smaller, more personal chapter for the Desert Hearts family.
White Claw and Defected Records are teaming up for a social experiment called *Find Your People*, launching on National Friendship Day 2026. The premise: the dancefloor has the power to connect people in ways nothing else can. They're calling it a first of its kind. We'll see.
Now, where are we going tonight? Pacha is hosting Marco Carola's Music On alongside The Martinez Brothers and Luke Dean — always a serious one. Over at Hï, it's BBC Radio 1 Dance X night with Dom Dolla and KI/KI. Amnesia has Glitterbox in full force — David Morales, Michael Gray, Todd Terry, Inner City, and Jellybean Benitez all on the bill. And 528 is going big with BBC Radio 1 Dance Ibiza — Disclosure on a DJ set, Gorgon City, Jazzy, Josh Baker, plus the Radio 1 crew: Arielle Free, Charlie Hedges, Danny Howard, Pete Tong, and Sarah Story. Spoiled for choice tonight.
    That's all folks!

  • Pocomucho Daily — Thursday 30 July 2026
Thursday, July 30th, 2026. I'm your host Ben D M Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
Mau P is planting his flag on Ibiza's midweek. The Dutch producer kicks off his Baddest Behaviour residency at Pacha Ibiza on Wednesday August 5th, running every Wednesday through to October 7th. He'll be going all night for the debut, and this is the residency's second summer at the venue after its launch last season.
And speaking of Ibiza — Chinois is heading into August with no signs of slowing down. After running parties every single day in July, the venue keeps the momentum going with a stacked guest roster that includes Hernán Cattáneo, The Blessed Madonna, Deep Dish, and Kerri Chandler, among others. Serious selections across the board.
Sad news now, and significant. Kavinsky has died at the age of 50. The French DJ and producer, real name Vincent Belorgey, passed away at his home in Paris on Tuesday evening. The news was confirmed by French newspaper Le Parisien. He's best known for his 2010 track Nightcall, which became one of the defining moments of that era. The Paris prosecutor's office has opened an inquiry into the circumstances of his death. A genuine loss for electronic music.
Aphex Twin's Drukqs is getting the anniversary treatment. The sprawling 30-track album is set for a 25th anniversary vinyl reissue, arriving across multiple physical formats on October 30th. One of the most singular records in electronic music — and now you'll be able to own it in style.
Cloonee and Prospa are back together, and this one carries real weight. Their new single Good Girl features Tristan Henry and is the first track from Cloonee's forthcoming debut album, out now on Good Music For Bad People and Hellbent Records. The pressure is on — their last collaboration was a big one — but debut album mode is a different kind of moment entirely.
Appetite On The Farm returns for its fifth edition, heading to Kelvedon Hall in Brentwood, Essex across two days — Saturday and Sunday, August 29th and 30th. Jamie Jones, Max Dean, Shanti Celeste, Skream, SG Lewis, and Traumer are among the names on the lineup. A proper late-summer send-off in the countryside.
And a broader social note — a report this week looks at the growing number of people sneaking onto festival grounds, driven by the rising cost of tickets. It frames it as a questionable workaround that's becoming more and more common. Make of that what you will — though the festivals certainly have a view on it.
Finally, a useful one for the DJs listening — Berghain and Ostgut Ton affiliate Ryan Elliott has shared the five online newsletters he uses to find music. Worth a look if your USB is a mess and you know it.
Now, where are we going today in Ibiza? Over at Destino, it's the Pacha Icons outdoor party — Solomun, Michael Bibi, and Butch. Hard to argue with that lineup under the open sky.
At 528, La Discothèque brings FAC51: The Haçienda to Ibiza, with Derrick Carter, Felix Da Housecat, Graeme Park, and Ultra Naté performing live. A full Manchester pilgrimage, on the island.
Chinois has Defected tonight — Carl Craig, DJ Gregory, and HoneyLuv on the bill. Deep house and Detroit in the same room.
And DC10 hosts Solid Groove with Ahmed Spins, Dennis Cruz, Pawsa, Route 94, The Ghost, and Toman. That one's going late.
    That's it folks!

  • Pocomucho Daily — Wednesday 29 July 2026
Wednesday, July 29th, 2026. I'm your host Ben D-M-Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
Big news for the island — Ibiza is set to experience a rare total solar eclipse next month, and the clubs are already moving. A series of eclipse-themed sunset events are being planned around the occasion, with Pikes hosting a takeover at 528 Ibiza featuring DJ Harvey. That's the kind of booking that fits the moment perfectly.
    [STORY BREAK]
Also on the Ibiza front, BBC Radio 1 Dance is expanding its Ibiza schedule, adding UNVRS, Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza to its broadcast lineup this season.
    [STORY BREAK]
And Jamie Jones joins the Feels Like Eclipse Festival line-up — tropical scenes incoming, as the billing puts it.
    [STORY BREAK]
Over in Germany, Electrisize returns to Erkelenz on August 7th to 9th for its 17th edition. The headline story this year is the 10th anniversary of HARDSIZE — the festival's hardstyle stage that started as an internal risk nobody believed in and has since grown to rival the Mainstage in scale. Brennan Heart, who opened the stage back in 2016, returns for the occasion, joined by Ran-D, Coone and Sickmode. A proper milestone.
    [STORY BREAK]
Sicily is holding its own this summer — PHASE 2 FSTVL is bringing Ben Klock and NOVAH to Catania, on the island's eastern strip.
    [STORY BREAK]
Chicago sister duo me n ü are having a breakout year — moving from intimate coffee shop performances to some of dance music's biggest stages. They spoke about their project Hope House and finding their place in the scene. One to watch if they're not already on your radar.
    [STORY BREAK]
Tomorrowland has published the sets from its 2026 edition. If you missed either weekend, the recordings are now out — consider that your post-festival recovery sorted.
    [STORY BREAK]
Label news: Monstercat and Rampage Recordings are consolidating their operations, joining forces and merging their respective labels.
    [STORY BREAK]
Also on the label front, Sondela Recordings has launched a new imprint called Sondela Volt, dedicated to the deeper, darker and more club-focused side of African electronic music. The catalogue opens with a track called Ascendance, a collaboration, out since July 24th.
    [STORY BREAK]
Numbers has reissued Hallucinator's Landlocked — Chain Reaction material, making it to vinyl for the first time, remastered by Rashad Becker at Clunk. Available to pre-order now.
    [STORY BREAK]
A rare vinyl reissue is also on the way featuring remixes from house legends Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan. Details are limited but the names alone make it worth watching.
    [STORY BREAK]
Jimi Jules has released Whisper To Me, a new collaboration with Swedish duo Modern Tales, out via Innervisions. The track grew from an unused bass sample originally recorded for Trippy Yeah, developed further while Jules was travelling.
    [STORY BREAK]
Former Coppelia 101 resident and vinyl distributor Iván Smoka has launched a new retrospective mix series called Smoka Selects — spanning two decades of club culture. Archival mix series done right.
    [STORY BREAK]
And finally on the news front — Rave The Planet 2026 remains uncertain following an attack during Berlin's CSD celebrations. Organisers say they are in talks with authorities, but as of now it's still unclear whether the event will go ahead. More to follow on that one.
    [STORY BREAK]
Right, what's on tonight. At Universe it's Paradise with Jamie Jones and Bedouin — and it's the Abracadabra Closing Party at Pacha with BLONDISH, Adam Ten, Mita Gami and Marsolo. Hï Ibiza hosts Our House with Meduza, James Hype, Miane and Mind Against. Amnesia has RESISTANCE in full force — Adam Beyer back-to-back with Ilario Alicante, ARTBAT, Joris Voorn back-to-back with KOROLOVA, Mosimann and Davina Moss. And at Chinois, Mahmut Orhan alongside Foster The People doing a DJ set — that's not a combination you see every day.

  • Pocomucho Daily — Tuesday 28 July 2026
Tuesday, July 28th, 2026. I'm your host Ben D M Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
We have to start in Berlin, where the city is mourning after a devastating attack on its Pride event on Sunday. A van was driven into the crowd, killing one person and injuring 29 others. The attacker, named as Abdul Ballout, was later shot and killed by police. The community and the city are grieving, and questions are being raised in the aftermath of the attack.
Staying in Berlin — the festival MAGMA, previously known as MAGMA & LAVA, has rebranded under the single name MAGMA. Booker Magnus von Welck has been explaining the thinking behind the change, saying the sound of MAGMA is more of a feeling than something that can easily be named — which tells you everything about where this festival sits in the Berlin scene.
Amelie Lens closed the Freedom Stage at Tomorrowland this past Sunday while pregnant — dedicating her entire set to her upcoming debut album AURA. In a candid interview with Belgian public broadcaster VRT NWS, she opened up about performing in that condition, saying you shouldn't put your dreams aside. Hard to argue with that.
Fred again.. and LATIN MAFIA have shared a new 35-minute tour film called *under the fabric*, capturing a spontaneous live session shot back in December. It also features unreleased music — so worth your time if you haven't watched it yet.
Resident Advisor is turning 25 this year, and they're not letting it pass quietly. The RA25 project spans the second half of 2026 and includes a ten-date world tour, a limited-edition book titled *Front Left: 25 Years of Electronic Music* coming via Velocity Press, a bespoke merch run, and an archival editorial project. A proper anniversary, properly done.
And finally, a big one for the heads. Sasha and John Digweed are reissuing their landmark 1996 mix album *Northern Exposure* to mark its 30th anniversary. *Northern Exposure Redux* drops September 25th via Late Night Tales on digital, CD and vinyl, and includes brand new ambient and dub reworks. Thirty years on and it still holds up — this reissue is very welcome.
What's on today ibiza? Calvin Harris, Pete Tong, head to Ushuaïa, Universe has Anyma and Miss Monique. Rufus Du Sol and Disclosure at Pacha. East End Dubs, Skream, TSHA and Paco Osuna at Hï, Joseph Capriati B2B with Damian Lazarus at Amnesia, and Saoirse, Moxie, Peach & Shanti Celeste all day long at 5 2 8.
That's it folks! Thanks for listening.

It's a big night on the island. John Summit closes his Experts Only residency at UNiVeRSe tonight — Gorgon City and Odd Mob are joining him for what promises to be a serious send-off.
We have some sad news to share. Berlin-based DJ and producer Nico Stojan has passed away. The announcement was made on his social media channels on July 26th. He was a respected figure in the scene, and our thoughts go to everyone who knew him.
Miss Monique brought melodic techno to the Tomorrowland 2026 mainstage for Weekend 2 on Friday, and she ended her set with a moment — the live reveal of her debut collaboration with Robbie Williams, titled Beauty In Us.
Darren Emerson has gone back to Dark & Long. The 2026 remake of Dark & Long, Dark Train — the track he had a hand in originally — is out now via Detone.
On the reissue front, Scissor & Thread are bringing back two records from DJ Sprinkles, Francis Harris, Frank & Tony — newly remastered and available to pre-order now. Two of the deepest house records of the last fifteen years, back on vinyl.
Palms Trax has released Soft Trance, Hard Gossip through fabric — his first solo material since 2021. It's a preview of his forthcoming two-track EP, Keys to a Printed Garden.
And Dharma Techno Festival is offering something a little different — an experience combining underground techno with silent meditation and full sobriety. Not every festival, but definitely a festival.
DHB Portugal has announced its 2026 lineup: Luciano, Bedouin, and Josh Baker are confirmed. Speaking of Josh Baker — he's also been added as a late addition to BBC Radio 1 Dance Ibiza at 528 Ibiza. Good week for him.

  • Pocomucho Daily — Tuesday 21 July 2026
Tuesday, July 21st, 2026. I'm your host Ben D M Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
Pacha Ibiza has announced its Grand Closing Weekend Part 2, and PAWSA is taking control on Sunday, October 11th, joined by Miguelle & Tons. Closing season is still a way off, but it's never too early to mark the calendar.

  • Pocomucho Daily — Monday 20 July 2026
Monday, July 20th, 2026. I'm your host Ben D-M-Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily.
Tomorrowland had quite a weekend. Charlotte de Witte showed up unannounced on the Mainstage on Sunday for an impromptu set blending hard techno with psy-trance — an unexpected curveball that, by all accounts, shifted the entire mood of the day. Meanwhile, on Saturday night, Dimitri Vegas took the Mainstage solo following Like Mike's announcement that he's stepping back from touring due to health challenges. Dimitri dedicated a moment during the set to his partner with the words: "We can't wait for you to be back." And in one of the more genuinely moving stories to come out of the festival, Spanish DJ B Jones returned to the Tomorrowland Mainstage after beating cancer — saying in a statement that the goal of performing there again was a major source of motivation throughout her treatment. Good to have her back.
Over in Hamburg, controversy is brewing ahead of this weekend's Habitat Festival. The city's antisemitism commissioner Anna von Villiez is calling for the cancellation of Palestinian techno DJ Sama' Abdulhadi's planned performance at the event.
In Germany, a large-scale raid saw customs investigators, federal police, and special forces storm a suspected drug laboratory in an industrial building in the Brandenburg town of Ludwigsfelde. Separately, following the earlier raid at the Augsburg City Club — one of the biggest controversies in German nightlife this year — police have now searched 19 homes belonging to club visitors.
French festival Positive Education is back. After a one-year hiatus, the Saint-Étienne gathering — located near Lyon — returns on November 6th and 7th with a lineup that includes A Guy Called Gerald, K Wata, Machine Girl, ABADIR, Manuka Honey, Eris Drew and Octo Octa, and Microplastics, among others. Good to see it back.
Reworks Festival in Thessaloniki has dropped its first names for 2026. Paul Kalkbrenner, Dixon, Fadi Mohem, Daria Kolosova, The Blessed Madonna, DVS1, Maceo Plex, Modeselektor, Moritz von Oswald, and Sama' Abdulhadi are among the bookings for the September festival. Full programme still to come.
London arts venue Theatreship — the volunteer-run centre based on a docked cargo ship — has confirmed it will continue operating after reaching a binding agreement that includes legal protections against future noise complaints. The space had been under threat for the past 14 months due to a proposed skyscraper development nearby. Good news for one of London's more singular venues.
Leeds is getting a new warehouse venue. Promoter Arrival Events — founded in 2024 by Josh Demello and Kane Towning — is opening a space called Vault, described as the city's largest-ever warehouse experience. An opening date and location are yet to be announced.
Sven Väth is opening a residency at The Shard in London this August — a five-date series in partnership with fabric and Sennheiser, taking place at The View from the Shard. One of the more unusual venue pairings you'll see this year.
Now, what's on tonight in Ibiza. Kettama heads to Amnesia. Sonny Fodera and Dombresky take over Pacha. Hï hosts Francis Mercier presenting Solèy. Akasha has DJ Pippi and Willie Graff. Cocoon lands at 528 with Sven Väth and Nina Kraviz. And Circoloco fills DC10 with a deep lineup: either and me, Call Super, Chloé Caillet, Luciano, Rampa, Seth Troxler, Young Marco, Sossa, and Tania Vulcano. A serious Monday.
    That's it folks!
