In today’s study, we jump right into the middle of the Jews arguing over whether Jesus was the Christ or not. There was a huge division among the people because of what He said at the last great day of the Feast. They sent officers to get Him, but they had never heard a man speak like this One did! We then go behind the scenes and into a private meeting with the Sanhedrin, and we begin to see what an effect Jesus had on Nicodemus that night they had met. As we close this episode, we venture into chapter eight and see Jesus going into the Temple to teach, and as we all know, He is about to get tested again. In our Q&A we received a really good question: Why did God stretch Creation out over the space of 6 days?

He told them that they needed to be able to judge righteous judgment, which goes against our culture today. We often hear: Judge not, but it is almost always used out of context by the people of the world. We look at a few word meanings, some Jewish culture, and go over some Old Testament connections today. In today’s study, we discuss how that the Feast of Tabernacles was nearing, and how everyone was so concerned about whether or not Jesus was coming to it. Jesus told His unbelieving brothers that His time was not yet, and He allowed them to leave for the Feast without Him. Then He secretly went up to the Feast, but He didn’t stay undercover for long. He shows up and immediately begins teaching in the Temple! A dispute gets started pretty quickly, and many other things begin to happen in this setting. In our Q&A segment, we were asked a compelling question: I’m not a Hamas supporter, but I believe Israel is a very godless country as well, so I have wondered if some of what they’re facing could be the judgment of God… do you agree?

In today’s study, we look into one of those topics we kind of wish wasn’t in the Bible. To believe that someone could or would betray Christ is hard to imagine, but one of the ones closest to Him did just that. Jesus knew from the beginning that this would happen. Many of His disciples turned to walk with Him no more in this same setting. Jesus said that He chose the 12, but He knew that 1 of them was a devil, and then John quickly states this was said of Judas. Jesus asked the other 11 if they would go away, and Peter gave the best answer anyone could have ever given. In our Q&A segment, we were asked a great question: When Jesus prayed for the Father to let this cup pass from Him, what was the cup?

In today’s study, we talk about what you can expect from our Friday editions in the coming year. Even though we plan to continue in the vein of idolatry again today, this episode will be very different. As a matter of fact, we will be dealing with a lot of different stuff over the next couple of months. We will be going into what is nearly unchartered territory. We are just beginning to expose some of the deepest mysteries found within scripture, and it will get interesting. We began with a discussion on how idolatry starts, and it must begin with a low view of Jesus Christ. We ended up talking about ‘sons of God’ and ‘morning stars’ and what they are. If you want to stretch your mind, this is just the thing for you!
