  • When royals visit Ireland
Prince William and Kate's time in Ireland at the start of the month completed the set of senior royals to have visited the country.
The Queen's State visit in 2011 was momentous, as was her trip to Northern Ireland the following year.
Prince Charles and Camilla visited last year, while a visit to Dublin was Meghan and Harry's first official trip abroad.
Ireland's history, from independence through the Troubles, including the IRA's murder of Lord Mountbatten, the Queen's second cousin once removed and Prince Philip's uncle, to the Good Friday Agreement and reconciliation means royal visits have a particular tension.
Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper (@anngripper) is joined by Jilly Beattie (@jillybeattie), features editor of the Daily Mirror's print and online Irish editions, to discuss that relationship, why the royal family's celebrity counts for a lot, the very special relationship with the Queen and her own unusual encounter with a senior royal.
And Daily Express royal editor Richard Palmer (@royalreporter) gives an update from his travels with the royal pack on the Cambridges' recent visit, and previous trips with the Queen and Charles.

Prince Charles has tested positive for coronavirus, the royal family has confirmed.
The 71-year-old heir to the British throne is now self-isolating at Birkhall on the Balmoral estate.
Pod Save the Queen host Ann Gripper (@anngripper) is joined by Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers (@rjmyers) to discuss the implications of the news, the Queen continuing to work from Windsor and William and Kate's visit to NHS staff. They also discuss Sophie Wessex's homeschooling tips with Lady Louise and the royal family's Mother's Day posts.

  • Meghan and Harry's royal reunion at Commonwealth service
When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry married, it was thought their working royal life would have a heavy focus on the Commonwealth.

Instead, Monday's Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey marked their final joint engagement as senior working royals.
That meant a first public outing with the royal family since they broke the news they were quitting.

Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper (@anngripper) talks to Rachael Bletchly (@rachaelbletchly), chief feature writer at the Daily Mirror, and Mirror photographer Phil Harris (@mirrorsnapper on Instagram) about the Commonwealth Day service, while Mirror Online lifestyle editor Zoe Forsey (@zoeforsey) catches us up on the rest of their visit.

  • When the royals come to town - the reporters' view
The royal family conduct visits and engagements across the country and around the world, taking a travelling pack of reporters and photographers with them.
But they are also joined by the local media, rarely royal specialists, who have a different perspective as they get a rare experience of the royals up close.
To find out what it is like when the royals come to visit, Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper is joined by three colleagues from regional newsrooms.
The Liverpool Echo's Max Clements (@maxclementsECHO) was with Prince William on his recent visit to Everton, with Wales Online's Christie Bannon (@christiebannon_) joining the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Swansea as they got their first taste of royal reporting.
For Leicestershire Live and Leicester Mercury poitics correspondent Dan Martin (@danjamesmartin), Prince Charles and Camilla's visit was his latest royal outing after previous visits from Prince Andrew, William, Kate and the Queen.
They share their stories, what it meant to their cities - and what other people wanted to find out about being there.

  • Sussex statement ruffles feathers
Prince Harry and Meghan have confirmed they will not be using 'royal' in the branding of their future activities once they begin their new life on April 1.
But the Spring 2020 Transition Details statement on their website seemed to lay bare the tensions simmering in the royal family as the Firm approaches this new phase.
With questions remaining over who will pay for their security - and how much - as well as various very pointed comments, Pod Save The Queen listeners have shared their reactions.
Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers (@rjmyers) joins Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper (@anngripper) to go through the details.
They also talk about major upcoming royal visits for William, Kate, Charles and Camilla.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex started 2020 with a bang, declaring their intention to step back from their roles as senior royals and carve out a different future.
The early announcement prompted urgent negotiations with the royal family, with an initial deal thrashed out to give Prince Harry and Meghan the freedom they were looking for.
The couple's plans are still forming, but the wheels are now very definitely in motion. So what is it like to make such a radical change to your career - and how do you make it a success? And what does entering the world of celebrity mean for the Sussexes' future?
Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper (@anngripper) talks to career coach Paul Cope (@paul7cope), writer of The 7 Secrets to Change Your Career, Escape Your Prison and Build a Dream Life, about what it is like to live through such a turbulent time and how to come out on top.
