ASX 200 closes up 12 points to 7348 for a weekly gain of around 1%. The All Tech Index unchanged with APT down 1.7% and Z1P rising 2.8%. Miners held firm with RIO production report causing a 0.4% loss whilst BHP rose 0.7%. Banks down around 0.2% and Industrials mixed with eyes on the lockdown and CV19 cases.

Dow futures down 15 and European futures showing a positive start to the day.

ASX 299 closes down 19 to 7335 in cautious trade as CV19 lockdowns take centre stage. Good jobs number at 4.9% unemployment helping although 10-year yields dropped to 1.29% hurting the big banks slightly with the Basket down to $176.81. SKI saw a takeover offer around 270c and SYD knocked back the IFM bid at 825c but left the door open for an increased offer.  BNPL stil struggling with Z1P down 5.6% All Tech Index off 1%
European market expected to open slightly lower and Dow Futures down 58.

Powell's comments see bond yields fall as the market gives inflation the benefit of the doubt for another month.  We look at the One Stock Portfolio League table. Henry has overtaken Marcus and Felix is coming up behind. Some technical signals. Gold up. BNPL down - again.

This week I catch up with my good friend Adam Dawes from Shaw and Partners. Adam is a great guy and he shares his four stocks that he is currently recommending to his clients and I put him on the spot for a 'One Stock to Change Your Life' recommendation. This whole theme caught fire with Kochie on 'The Call' on Ausbiz running with it for the last two weeks.

ASX 200 shrugs off CV19 case rises to close up 23 points at 7355. BNPL a major diasetr area today as Apple and PayPal enter the fray. APT, Z1P and SZL all tumbling around 10% or more. Z1P update due tomorrow. Banks steady with BHP up 0.5% and gold miners pushing ahead as AUD weakened. Defensive industrials also in demand. PPS doing well up around 15% on a business update and SKI in a trading halt late in the session pending a material announcement. Another Takeover perhaps.
European futures pointing to early losses and US results season the focus.

An OK day as the US CPI number kicks off new interest rate fears. US results are better than expected but the share prices fall. Cathie Wood says China Tech is overbought. BNPL get a double-barrelled volley from competitors. Lithium gets another upgrade from a third broker.
