We talk about the Market, Risk and Trend as part of our regular strategy discussions. For the moment the answers are "Up, Low and Friendly".  Not much to report today, volumes low, case numbers rising but ignored, economic backdrop quiet, earnings results supportive - waiting for something to come an upset the apple cart but nothing obvious to do that. WE talk about "Left Field Risk". Refer a Friend, ARK ETFS and some technical buy and sell signals.

A quiet and uninspiring start to the week with the ASX 200 drifting off into the close up a mere 2 points to 7066. Banks and miners firmed as industrials drifted lower. ORE/GXY announced a merger and SGM rose nearly 9% on a business update. The Trans Tasman Bubble officially kicked off today with AIA rising 2.3% and SYD up 0.5%. Gold miners did well with NST up 2.3%. Dow futures off 85 points and a mildly positive opening expected for European markets.

Record highs are in sight for our local market this week after another night of record highs in the US on Friday. The ASX 200 is now just 99 points shy of the record close set in February 2020. Meanwhile, after a few quiet weeks we are making up for it with a corporate calendar jam-packed with production reports, AGMs and even a few results this week.

ASX 200 closed up 5 points in lacklustre quiet trading. Up 0.9% for the week to 7064. Banks a little soggy as bond yields fell to 1.72% on teh 10 years, materials better on iron ore and gold miners finding favour as yields fall. ORG falls 9% after a ruling on energy prices and MND settles with RIO taking some of the negatives away rising 5.9%. European markets expected to open slightly positive. The market is going "risk on" again as interest rates peak and even show signs of falling.  The barometer of market enthusiasm - Bitcoin - hit a record high and the capital raisings and corporate deals are cranking up again. When the Ducks are Quacking...the industry will feed them. Technology and growth is coming alive as the interest fears fade and in particular the BNPL sector after Z1P's quarterly update yesterday lit the blue touch paper on a sold down sector. Its all "on" again. Expect other BNPL players to put some zip into their own stories with equally upbeat updates - the industry is a long way from maturity. Lots of other stuff in the newsletter including a story about the Messiah and an opportunity for you to press a button and pass on your stock market wisdom to other Members.
