    Consider This John 7:10-31
In the middle of the Festival of Tabernacles celebration, Jesus went up into the temple court and began to teach. The Jews were amazed. How? How does Jesus know the Scripture and their traditional teachings? They knew Jesus had no formal rabbinical training – nor did His disciples.

Consider this – Jesus submitted completely to the authority of God the Father.

Consider this – Jesus gave all glory and credit to God the Father for all things including His accurate teachings.

Consider this – Jesus challenged their unbelief. Jesus taught, if anyone is willing to do God’s will, they will know the foundations of His teachings.

Consider this – Jesus glorified God repeatedly with His life, His works, and His teachings. Jesus proclaimed that He Himself was true and righteous.

Consider this – Jesus confronted the unbelief of the people in the temple court. He placed His finger on their sins because they were disobedient to the law of Moses.

Consider this – The people and the religious leadership defamed Jesus. They said He had a demon.

Consider this – Jesus referenced the miracle He performed at the last Festival in Jerusalem. (John 5:1-18). He judged the people for their blind unbelief.

Consider this – Jesus rebuked the inconsistency of the religious leadership. He healed completely on the Sabbath and they were angry. But if a male child turned eight days old on the Sabbath, they would circumcise Him keeping the law of Moses and the Abrahamic Covenant.

Consider this – The crowd recognized Jesus pushed back against the religious leadership, boldly and authoritatively. They recognized the weakness of their rulers.

Consider this – The Bible says many of the people put their faith in Jesus. They recognized His truths and miracles were from God.

Offended by The Truth John 6:65-7:10
When the truths of King Jesus and truths about His Kingdom are shared, some are drawn to Him and many turn away. The deep truths Jesus shared were and are often misunderstood. Jesus (God the Son) knew some would reject Him and some would receive His truth. Even Jesus’ earthly half brothers suffered from unbelief.

Jesus always speaks with clarity. Even if the teaching is a deep truth, the Holy Spirit will help with the understanding.

Many shallow disciples abandoned Jesus and never returned.

Peter believed. He expressed to Jesus how the remaining disciples had come to believe that He was the Holy One of God, the Christ, Son of the living God.

The unbelieving religious leaders were looking to kill Jesus. They knew He followed the Law of Moses. The Law required all Jewish males to celebrate the Feast of Booths, appearing before the Lord in the Temple. Deuteronomy 16:16; Leviticus 23

Jesus was the First born, therefore the oldest. His brothers, in there unbelief, challenged Jesus to make Himself know publicly to the world during the feast.

Jesus confronted His brothers in their unbelief with truth. He waited on God for His time to be fully revealed. Jesus remained in Galilee.

Jesus honored God’s timeline and privately went to the Feast of Booths.

In the middle of the vast crowds, the religious leadership looked diligently for him so they might persecute Him.

Even the crowd was stirred by the pursuits of the Jewish leadership. There was a lot of whispered discussion and murmuring among them about Jesus. Some said He was good, others said He misled people by giving them false ideas.

No one shared their opinion openly because they feared the religious and political leadership.

The Mystery – Our Blessed Hope – 1 Corinthians 15:35-58
People understand people come from people. Since the Creation account in the Bible, we look back to the first man who had a natural body – Adam. (Genesis 2:7) Today, we have hope in the birth, death, and resurrection of the second Adam (Jesus), Who was raised with a spiritual body.

The Bible says of Itself – 2 Timothy 3:16,17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Do you believe?

The Bible tells us as believers, we have eternal life out of death.

God is Creator and He is the one Who assigns bodies as He chooses.

The resurrection of the dead is beautifully demonstrated in God’s design.

    Jesus is life. John 14:6

Believers and unbelievers physically bear the image of our father Adam. The first Adam.

Believers spiritually bear the image of our Savior, Jesus, the second Adam.

Believers have exclusive inheritance within the kingdom of God. We must live with the blessed hope in view. Titus 2:11-15

Victory day is coming for every believer in Jesus Christ.

We as believers should be thankful, steadfast, immovable, always doing our best and doing more than is needed.

Believers should serve God with purpose. He designed our very faith and works. Ephesians 2:8-10

Is you hope in Christ alone?

    Adopted into God’s Family – 3:26-29; 4:1-11
If we are not careful, we can take for granted the blessings of God. We are often easily distracted from the things which really matter. Our spiritual lives are more important than our physical lives. Somewhere deep in our hearts, we know we were built for eternity. This Christmas are you persuaded your eternity is in Heaven with Jesus Christ?

Paul described the believers in Galatia as the “Children of God.” There is a choice. 1 John 3:8-10

Jesus always brings unity in the family of God. Psalm 133

All believers have overcome. We are transferred from servitude to sonship. We can have confidence in our celebration! Romans 8:35-39

We are in God’s family plan, because God had a family plan.

We were bought with such a great price, the death of the only begotten of God. By faith in Jesus, we receive the gift of adoption from God.

Believers have direct access to the Father. We have the privilege of calling Omnipotent God, “Abba Father.”

We are spiritual heirs. We have been set free, therefore we should live accordingly. Titus 3:1-10

    Simeon’s Song – Luke 2:21-41
Jesus was born under the law. Much of God’s word was fulfilled at the temple. Joseph and Mary obeyed the law of Moses and kept the covenant of Abraham. They were righteous people before God. Later they returned to the temple to redeem their Firstborn, Who was the Redeemer. Simeon saw God’s Salvation.

Joseph and Mary obeyed the covenant of God on the eighth day of Jesus’ birth by naming Jesus and completing His circumcision. Genesis 17:1-27

Mary had to obey the law of God for her purification. God left no confusion as to the order of His commands. Leviticus 12:1-8

Because Jesus was their Firstborn, God required a special sacrifice, which his parents completed. Exodus 13:1-15

God provided a way for Joseph and Mary to keep His law.

Simeon was a righteous and just man. He lived righteously before his God and he lived justly before his fellow man. He was filled with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit confirmed to Simeon, he would not see death until he had seen the Lord’s Christ. This was God’s Messianic Hope!

Simeon was led to the temple by the prompting of the Holy Spirit. He saw Jesus and held him. He blessed God with a song/prophesy.

Simeon celebrated God’s perfect salvation. He celebrated that this salvation was for all people. John 3:16, Romans 1:16,17

Joseph and Mary were amazed at what was said about their son Jesus.

Simeon blessed Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. He prophesied of the future acceptance and rejection of Jesus.

    Holy – His Name – Luke 1:26-56
In our culture today, Mary is looked upon in two extremes. Either she is exalted highly and Jesus takes second place, or she is dismissed and not esteemed as she ought to be. As we see in today’s Passage, Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, she exclaimed loudly, “Blessed [worthy to be praised] are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And how has it happened to me, that the mother of my Lord would come to me?”

Gabriel instructed Mary and announced the birth of Christ.

Gabriel told Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you [like a cloud]; for that reason, the holy (pure, sinless) Child shall be called the Son of God.”

Mary submitted to the Lord and by faith trusted the word of Gabriel.

Mary by Divine guidance, traveled quickly to Zacharias and Elizabeth’s house. There, she was also inspired by Elizabeth with words of affirmation.

Elizabeth surprised Mary and acknowledged her as “the Mother of my Lord.”

Mary gave all praise and honor to the Lord. She knew the One she was carrying in her womb was her Savior! Her desire was to magnify the Lord.

Mary recognized this wonderful thing God had done for her. She gave great attention to His holiness.

Mary looked into the future and proclaimed – “God’s mercy on those who fear Him, from generation to generation.” This is includes us, our generation! Ephesians 2:4-10

Mary looked to the saints of the past and recalled God’s Divine Faithfulness to them!

Mary closed her song/prayer with joy and eternity on her mind.

Guided by The Dayspring’s Light – Luke 1:67-80
In our Scripture today we take a look in the life of Zechariah/Zacharias. His name means – God remembers. He and his wife Elizabeth served God faithfully all of their lives, but they had no son. The Hebrews believed if a woman could not have children, she and her husband were not blessed by God. God remembered! He blessed the two of them with a son, John, the forerunner of Jesus Christ.

Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit and there he prophesied.

He revered God and brought Him glory.
He remembered Gabriel’s announcement. Luke 1:5-23
He revealed God had set His people free through redemption. Jesus is our redemption. Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:12-14; 1 Peter 1:18-21
He rightly prophesied of the Great Powerful One, Who would be the Son of David and would bring salvation. His name is Jesus. Acts 4:8-12
He recalled the Davidic covenant. 1 Chronicles 17:11-14
He referenced the holy prophets of God, regarding the Messiah.
He rejoiced God was fulfilling the Abrahamic covenant. Genesis 12:1-3; Genesis 15
He recited a prayer of blessing over John.
He reminded the world, John (his only son) would be the forerunner of the greatest One who would ever walk the earth, Jesus the Messiah.
He recognized the Creator God was giving mankind what we do not deserve; the ability to be guided by the Dayspring’s Light. Jesus is the Light. John 1:1-5
John grew strong in spirit. He lived in the desert until his appointed preaching assignments.

    Lunch for a Bunch – John 6:1-15
Every miracle in the Bible is a message from God. Jesus challenges us to believe in miracles so we may trust in Him. The feeding of the five thousand plus shows us the miracle and message of restoration. Jesus showed He is indeed Jehovah-Jireh (God will provide), not only through this miracle, but providing salvation to all who would believe in Him through His death, burial, and resurrection.

A large crowd followed Jesus because they had seen the signs (attesting miracles) which He continually performed on those who were sick. They wanted more free stuff from Him.

Jesus moved away from the crowd to the mountain top. He took time to fellowship with His Father and His disciples.

The Passover was near so the crowds began to swell. Jesus looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming toward Him, and He tested Phillip and said to him, “Where will we buy bread for these people to eat?”

The task was humanly impossible. Phillip calculated the cost of feeding the people, but He left Jesus out of the equation.

Jesus showed the disciples and the crowds there is no problem too big for Jesus to solve. Do we believe this?

Jesus solved the problem but He used people. He used Phillip, the boy with a lunch, Andrew, and the rest of the disciples. Jesus took a lunchable and feed 5,000 – 20,000 people.

All four Gospels record this miracle. Jesus’ ministry was on purpose and in order.

Jesus always blesses in abundance. The people ate until they were full. The Bible writers record twelve extra baskets of food were left over after everyone finished eating.

Do you have a problem today?

What is too big in your life for God?
