Every miracle, every word spoken by Jesus pointed to His invitation to the Kingdom. Jesus committed His life to saving sinners, this was His mission. Today we have a fuller opportunity to read and heed the words of Jesus for our lives.
Jesus summarized His ministry to mankind in (v.24). He prioritized faith in His words.
Jesus promised spiritual life to all who would believe.
Jesus clearly declared He was/is the Judge and that a day of judgment is coming.
Jesus’ judgment is always righteous.
Jesus proclaimed His divinity through the miracles He performed. Only God can do what Jesus did.
Jesus showed the religious leaders their unwillingness to turn from their sin and turn to Him – this is called lack of repentance.
The religious leadership proved to have no honor for God, Moses, Jesus, or God’s Holy Word.
The religious leadership thought they could have eternal life just by having the Scriptures.
How are we similar to the religious foes of Jesus?
How does our unbelief affect our actions?
It is time to repent and live for Jesus!

Jesus with His disciples made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem for a Jewish festival. Jesus obeyed the Laws of God found in the Torah (Deuteronomy 16:16,17). Jesus visited the pool of Bethesda which was by the sheep. Why?
Jerusalem means City of Peace. Bethesda means House of His grace, mercy, and loving kindness.
Jesus encountered a multitude of diseased people at Bethesda. The people were sick, blind, and lame.
Jesus engaged a certain man who had been ill for thirty-eight years. Jesus saw this man in his helpless state – his deepest time of need.
Jesus asked the man the most important life question –
The man responded with little faith. He saw his situation through his own eyes and not the eyes of God.
Jesus said to him, “Get up; pick up your pallet and walk.”
The man was persecuted by the religious rulers for following the command of Jesus.
Jesus found the man in the temple (the place of worship), and spoke with him. Jesus commanded him to stop sinning, (live a life of holiness). The reported to the Jews what Jesus said.
The Jews became more determined than ever to kill Him. From their viewpoint, He broke the Sabbath and He called God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.
Jesus warned the Jews, “anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who has sent Him.”

Jesus was welcomed back to Galilee – the Galileans knew they had a miracle worker from God in their town. They were excited to see more miracles and signs. A royal official (noble man) met Jesus that day and asked for healing for his son. Jesus listened to the man, the man listened to Jesus – Jesus changed his life.
The royal official was desperate because his son was dying. Jesus was his last chance before making the funeral arrangements. Look at these five things this desperate man did:
Notice the man’s title references change as he edges closer to the real miracle:
We all have or will have those times in our lives when we desperately need a word from God. We need wisdom and direction. We need answers that only God can give.
God is right here walking life with you. Like the man in the story, we must completely surrender to the Lord and by faith and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us day by day.

Realities:
The woman hurried back to her village to persuade her people to come, meet Jesus. She was focused on her new spiritual condition – even without water!
The disciples urged Jesus to eat physical food. Their focus was on the here and now.
Jesus said His food was to do the will of God the Father and completely finish His passionate work.
Jesus wanted His disciples and wants us to realize the spiritual harvest of eternal life in our hearts and for those still without Christ love in their hearts. Jesus had/has compassion on the lost! (Matthew 9:35-38)
Jesus wanted His disciples to “raise their eyes and look at the fields – see the ripe-ready harvest!” He wanted them to look at people in a different manner.
Jesus finished His work on the cross. (John 17:4; 19:28-30)
Disciples today still have the commission to know and do the will of God! We must continue to plant, water, and harvest. (Matthew 28:19,20; 1 Corinthians 3:6-9)
People sow and reap. People are the harvest!
The harvest is where the next generational seed is.
Are you?

Jesus keeps every single divine appointment the Father schedules.
Jesus broke manmade social norms to reach a woman described at her lowest point of sin.
Jesus offered the sinful woman a gift from God, He offered her living water.
Jesus instructed the woman He offered internal change and eternal change.
Jesus confronted the Samaritan woman’s core sin problem. He placed his finger on her sinful past.
The woman recognized Jesus was from God, but she shifted the conversation to the proper place of worship.
This woman was not seeking God, but God was seeking her. Romans 3:10-12
Jesus knew her heart, He called out her ignorance about worship.
Jesus said worship would be on God’s terms, not on mankind’s terms. He instructed her that true worship can happen anywhere as long as it is in Spirit and Truth.
The woman finally said, the Messiah (the Christ) is coming and He will settle the issue of worship and all things related to God.
Jesus revealed His Messiahship to the woman. Jesus is the Great I AM!
The woman left Jacob’s Well without her empty waterpot but with a heart full of living water.
She returned to her city to tell all about what Jesus had done for her. She invited the whole town to come and meet Jesus, ironically the disciples did not.
People heard the words of God and believed.
Are you sharing the good news of the Gospel with the people you know?
Are you sure of your eternal security?
If not, why not?

Judea means the “land of the Jews,” the Greco-Roman equivalent of Judah. As most of the Israelites returning from the captivity belonged to the tribe of Judah, they came to be called Jews and their land Judea. Jesus entered Judea because He had a mission to complete.
Jesus came to Judea with His disciples in order to make disciples.
John was in a well-watered area nearby Jesus. John continued his ministry until God caused him to finish. John finished well. Luke 3:1-22; Mark 6:14-29
John and Jesus baptized by immersion. Why?
John’s disciples recognized Jesus’ ministry was growing and John’s was decreasing.
John celebrated because God had gifted him with years of ministry that he recognized was coming to completion.
John rejoiced in Christ ministry by saying, “He must increase and I must decrease.” John always put Jesus in His rightful place, first.
The Holy Scripture teach us:
Do you believe in the One from Heaven?

There were some technical difficulties with the audio. A cleanup attempt has been done on sections of the audio file
Salvation, eternal life, living holy seem like words we only use and think about when we attend church. One of the dangers of hearing the truth is our minds and hearts can grow weary in hearing. James warns us we must be “…doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves.” James 1:22
In our Scripture today, we see Jesus encounter one of the most powerful men of his time. Nicodemus was a ruling Pharisee in the Jewish Sanhedrin.
Nicodemus visited with Jesus at night and confessed that he and the Sanhedrin knew Jesus was from God because of the signs/miracles Jesus was doing.
Jesus replied to Nicodemus with a simple declaration, you must be, “born from above.” Jesus was referring to God’s plan of salvation for Kingdom people. To be saved all people must be spiritually transformed, renewed, and sanctified. Romans 1:16,17; 12:1,2
Like many of us, Nicodemus resisted the exclusive message of salvation Jesus preached. Jesus confronted Nicodemus’ heart issue – lack of knowledge and lack of belief. (v. 9-21) Romans 10:9-17
Jesus provided clarity for Nicodemus and all of humanity concerning His unfailing love. Jesus did not come to condemn the world; He came that all might be saved.
Nicodemus came to Jesus when it was physically dark outside. Nicodemus also came to Jesus when he was spiritually dark inside.
Jesus is the Light of the World. Just as Jesus offered salvation to Nicodemus, He offers that same salvation to whomever will believe upon Him as Savior and Lord. Romans 10:13
What was the fate of Nicodemus? Why did he stumble at full surrender to Jesus? He was a sinner and he had a love for his sin. Nicodemus was a self-condemned man because of his unbelief!
How about you, are you fully surrendered to Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord?

Jesus entered the temple when He arrived in Jerusalem. He went to His Father’s house.
Jesus found merchants wrongfully profiting from the sale of needed animals for sacrifice and money changers inappropriately profiting from the exchange of foreign or pagan coins for temple currency (money approved by the priests to present as offerings).
Jesus made a whip of cords and cleansed the temple of the moneychangers and merchants because of His disgust at what they had made of God’s house of prayer.
Jesus passionately cleansed the temple of sinful, ungodly men. This is a picture of Passover.
Jesus proclaimed to the seller of doves/pigeons – “Get these things out of here! How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market?”
Jesus so strongly showed His love and compassion for His Father’s house that the event brought Scripture to the minds of his disciples. Psalm 69:9
The Jews questioned Jesus’ authority in cleansing the temple. Ungodly people never understand the ways of God. Isaiah 55:8-11
Jesus prophetically told them about His sufferings for their personal salvation. The Jews thought He was talking about the physical temple. They missed it!
John gave us a future truth for this time – Jesus’s disciples remembered and believed the words of Christ and the Holy Scriptures.
During the Passover many identified themselves with Jesus because of His signs and wonders.
Jesus did not stay with the people because He Himself knows we all are fickle and depending on human circumstances, will turn on Him. James 1:2-8

Simply put – God is the Source of abundance. Philippians 4:19
Jesus is God.
In John chapter 2, we take the master of the wedding banquet at his word about saving the poorer wine until the end of the celebration.
The master of the banquet addressed the bridegroom being celebrated thinking he had provided the best wine out of order.
The miracle of Jesus turning water into wine was a message. The message is, Jesus is not only a miracle worker, but He is also the Bridegroom Who should be celebrated! The Church is His Bride. John 3:26-36
The miracle was a picture of God’s redemption. He saved the bridegroom’s reputation and possible his marriage. Although the bridegroom had nothing to give, Jesus redeemed him and provided the good stuff!
The miracle was practical. Jesus abundantly supplied the need of the wedding banquet. Jesus is God Who provides.
The miracle was the first miracle Jesus did which launched His earthly ministry.
Through the miracle, Jesus revealed His deity and His great power publicly.
The miracle caused Jesus’ disciples to confidently believe in and trust in Him as the Messiah. John 20:31
Do you know Jesus?

The wedding feast began on the third day. The third day was a day revered by the Hebrew culture.
The wedding took place near Jesus’ hometown. Jesus revealed His glory first at a celebration of love with family, friends, and disciples.
Mary believed Jesus could solve the dilemma of running out of wine. She first went to Jesus with the problem. She then engaged others to obey Him.
Jesus respectfully addressed Mary. He clarified, “My time to act and to be revealed has not yet come.” He was informing her, He followed God’s timeline, not Mary’s.
Jesus commanded the servants to fill six stone water pots to the brim. Jesus always blesses in abundance. In obedience, they filled the stone pots.
Jesus commanded the servants to draw some liquid from the stone pots. The servants obeyed.
Jesus commanded the servants to take the liquid to the master of the feast and they took it. The master of the feast praised the groom and the bride for such superior wine.
By divine power, Jesus turned the almost 200 gallons of water into wine! He is the God who supplies.
This wedding is a beautiful picture of the Jesus redeeming sinful mankind. He is the God who saves.
Turning water into wine was the first of Jesus’ signs (attesting miracles).
Jesus revealed His glory by displaying His deity and His great power openly.
Jesus’ disciples confidently believed in Him as the Messiah.
Today, we can have confidence in Jesus!
Do you know Him?
