  "And I feel that especially in Jallianwalla Bagh and other important sites of war, it is very important to have the names of the soldiers inscribed on stone or copper and just to keep their memory alive. But there are certain things like reservation of seats in colleges for scs nest days, and the general court, the general merit list, and everything that does require some changes, not in the constitution, but in general in the constitution. I feel that there should be some changes as to what defines a minority. There should be a classification as to whether they're an economic minority or a population minority."

  "Living in a world with lesser freedom of choice would actually be an easier world to live in. We do not remember that with freedom comes responsibility. So the more choices that we have, the more responsible we have to be for those choices that we make. So our freedom comes with a lot of choice. Yes, but it also comes with a lot of responsibility, which is why possibly there are a lot of authorities, powers that be in governments who try to give fewer choices to the people."

  "If we get violent, then the opposition also will get violent. So we should adhere to nonviolence as far as possible. And it is possible to achieve something by nonviolent means and occasional violence means. This has been done before. It has been done in South Africa. It has been done by Prakash Narayan in India. And even Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi has done it, though he has not spoken of it openly. Non violence has been mixed with violence. So that is the only way out."

  "It doesn't take us a lot of effort to imagine what it would be like to live in a world without freedom. During the CA NRC protests, so many students were beaten and arrested simply for protesting an unlawful policy made by an intolerant government. Umar Khalid is still languishing in jail. Policies such as love jihad perpetuate violence against minority communities, which is against the constitution of India. It restricts one's own freedom to choose who we love."

  "No, there isn't such a thing called too much freedom. Freedom, at its core, is the ability to pursue one's own path, be it what we read, what we wear, what we choose to believe. All of this comes under one's personal belief that we must have the freedom to pursue. In the case of India, we have fought hard for this, and our constitution in the preamble explicitly gives us the freedom."

  "Recent happenings in Bangladesh have surely puzzled Indians. We thought that we helped in the birth of Bangladesh, which was east Pakistan earlier, and there would be, you know, love gratitude in Bangladesh for India, because our armed forces fought there also. Many lost their lives. Anyway, history has come full circle. Forces."
