THIS EPISODE:
This is our first LIVE podcast editing chat this month and I’m delighted to be joined by Ab in India and Andy in the U.S. And, as you know I’m in Split, Croatia. So this is truly a global event from the get go, hurrah! We chatted live about our podcast editing challenges, lessons learned and juggling multiple podcast editing projects.
Some other interesting moments
-Ab has more than 40 microphones
-Andy sometimes edits in double speed (2x)
-I find that Reaper is more user friendly for video editing than audio editing
-Ab thinks that longer episodes are trickier to edit
-Andy thinks that pauses in video (and thus video editing) is more forgiving
-I’m kicking myself for getting rid of her 1 TB external hard drives when she moved to cloud back up

Audio note:
This recording was done via one track on Streamyard with the video going over to the livestreaming on YouTube. I then downloaded the video, scraped the audio, cleaned up the audio with Hindenburg, merged it with the video again, silenced the original video sound and reuploaded the video. And uploaded the podcast audio. With this month of daily episodes I am admittedly taking a few shortcuts and sometimes, as can you hear, the audio quality suffers.
That’s why I’m so thankful for moments like this when folks like Ab jump in and let me know what can be improved. He noted the levels were off and offered to clean them up. Thus, the new audio is his cleaning up. Thanks Ab!
We’re doing these live events every Monday in November on the Podcast Editing Plus YouTube channel. More info below on how to be a GUEST and/or a chatroom audience member. We’d love it if you joined us. And, if there is enough interest in these types of lives, I’d like to continue them after November.
