Will You Stand in the Day of Persecution? She gave birth in Chains, Meriam Ibrahim’s Interview

John, Pat, and Steve share that since the birth of the Church, there has been persecution coming against it. In the book of Acts, Stephen was stoned to death, an evil emperor, Nero, would set Christians on fire simply to be able to see his garden at night. Today, there is a wave of persecution coming against the Body of Christ throughout the world that has not been seen before. In Rick Joyner’s book, The Harvest, he highlights the coming persecution against the church that will cause a great falling away. Joyner continues to share how he believes this is God’s process to purge the church.

When President Obama took the office of Presidency of the United States, his first speech was in Egypt at Cairo University. Members of the Muslim Brotherhood were invited and welcomed, while then President of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak was not in attendance. Through a sequence of events, Mubarak was removed from leadership and Mohamed Morsi was brought into power. Upon this transition of power, there was an immediate persecution of Christians in the nation. Pastor Saeed Abedini still remains in an Iranian prison, all for his faith in Jesus Christ.

In the midst of these events, Miriam Ibrahim, a Christian in Sudan, was also imprisoned for her faith in Jesus Christ and for her refusal to deny Jesus. Miriam is now safely within the United States. She was recently interviewed by Megyn Kelly on Fox News. Miriam shares about the difficulties and pressures of her imprisonment and how it was her faith in God that she relied upon. Be greatly encouraged as you hear from Miriam’s own words how she persevered through such hardship, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: Fox News, Megyn Kelly, Saeed Abedini, President Obama, ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Sinjar, persecution, faith and prayer.

Love means Trust

Steve, John, Pat have an encouraging conversation about the importance of trust in our lives. We can say we love one another, but when we also trust someone, that is when loving them as well. This also applies to our relationship with God. When we are following the leading of God in our lives, we can arrive into situations and realities that highlight “the lack” in a situation. These are the moments to trust in what God is doing. God controls everything. If you are truly following the will of God, He is in control of your situation. We can be focused on the lack of trust in another individual because of what we have seen in regards to their character, but if we are expressing a lack of trust in God and His will for our lives, what is that saying about our opinion of the character of God? Find out how God views trust, how we can move in our trust with God, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: loaves, fishes, faith, love, character, integrity, and abiding.

The Humility and Power of Prayer

John, Pat, and Steve discuss the importance of the role that prayer takes in our lives. Often times, we pray about things that are bigger than ourselves. But, in those situations that we feel comfortable in, we can respond with the “I got this” attitude, with prayer taking a “last option” role. In all situations, we should embrace humility and dependency, and not be presumptuous. God desires for us to commune and speak with Him daily and throughout the entire day, not just in those situations of difficulty. Many times, we can bring our desires to God asking Him to bless where we currently are and not simply desire to be involved in what God is already doing. If you had one on one, un-interrupted time with the President of the United States, what would you ask him? Would we value that time and use it wisely? “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” 1 Corinthians 13:11. God has given us all authority and desires for us to walk as He created us to. Find out the importance of prayer as your conversation with God, as your time with God, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: prayer, humility, President of United States, and humility.

ISIS Beheads Third Person: British Aid Worker David Haines

John, Pat, and Steve continue the atrocities of ISIS and the recent travesties that have taken place. British aid worker, David Haines, is now the third to be beheaded at the hands of ISIS. David Haines had left his own homeland to help others when he was captured in Syria last March. In response to these events, the Christian Post reports that British Prime Minister tweeted, “The murder of David Haines is an act of pure evil. My heart goes out to his family who have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude.” It’s important to remember that the persecution of Christians and Jews still remains and is happening across the Middle East and the world. Additionally, Texas Senator, Ted Cruz, walked off a stage when he was booed for his bold statements in support of Christians and the Jews. As the church, it is important for us to remain watchful and prayerful. We must have the same courage and backbone to stand for Israel and the truth. Find out the details of what is happening with ISIS, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: David Haines, James Foley, Stephen Scotloff, ISIS, President Obama, Prime Minister Cameron, Senator Ted Cruz, and prayer.

The Religious Spirit; Exposing, Uncovering and Overcoming this Deceptive Spirit Part 3

John, Pat, and Steve continue the conversation about the significance of a religious spirit. When looking at the book of Matthew in the Bible, over a third of the chapters highlight Jesus and His encounters with the religious leaders of the day, the Pharisees. Often times, we can look at these encounters and forget the reality that it can happen in our lives: whether encountering a religious spirit, being attacked by a religious spirit, or taking on a religious spirit ourselves.

The religious leaders that looked at Jesus’ life were more focused on the eyes of men than they were their own lives and their own hearts. Religion is a man-made attempt to do certain things to attain God’s acceptance. A religious spirit is a demonic spirit that seeks to substitute religious activity for the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. When we take our eyes off of the finished work of the Cross of Christ and onto ourselves, we have stopped moving in humility and began to move in a religious spirit.

When looking at how a religious spirit operates, it can be compared to an octopus. The octopus can conceal itself, camouflage itself and blend into its surroundings. At the same time, it has different tentacles that can reach out. These tentacles of religion are just some of the different manifestations of how a religious spirit operates:

-Judgmental

-Self-Righteous

-Critical

-Perfectionist

-Argumentative

-Divisive

-Unbelief

Jesus came to set us free and for us to be free. Find the many ways a religious spirit operates, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: tax collectors, sinners, disciples, Rick Joyner, Holy Spirit, and love.
