  • Never Say You Can’t; Ask Richie Parker
Greg, John, and Pat discuss how you should never give up as they discuss a video of the extraordinary life of Richie Parker. Richie was born with a rare birth defect that resulted in him being born without arms. They continue to discuss how many people today will line up to tell you why they can’t do something. All of their struggles, all their disadvantages and the things in their life they feel make it impossible for them to achieve and be successful in life. Well Richie Parker is not one of those people. When people told him “can’t”, he said I can try and eventually did. Richie grew up riding a bike with no arms. He drives himself to work every day where he is a mechanical engineer and controls the computer with his feet. Richie is a true inspiration of refusing to allow your circumstances dictate to you what you can do instead he dictated to his circumstances and to the world that he indeed can do, achieve and be successful.

  • God’s All Surpassing Power in Jars of Clay
Pat, John, and Chris discuss how God’s all surpassing power is displayed in jars of clay. They continue to discuss how God can do anything with a meek and submitted vessel. Paul said that if he is going to boast about anything it was going to be his weakness. The temptation is to forget who we were when we were called. The importance of staying in the place of total dependence on God so when God pours out His glory through you it will clearly be seen by men that it is truly God.

  • President Obama in Russia for G20 Summit
John, Pat, and Chris discuss the recent happening in the Middle East involving Syria and whether the United States will strike Syria for President Asaad’s alleged use of chemical weapons on his own people. All this is being discussed as President Obama arrives in Russia for the G20 Summit. CBN reports a statement President Obama made in Sweden earlier this week when he said “I didn't set a red line. The world set a red line.” When in fact President Obama himself clearly said his red line would be the use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Asaad. Many around the world today feel that President Obama’s indecisiveness in regarding Syria makes America look weak. The reality is that the President supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and is doing so in Syria as well. All of this is happening just 6 days from September 11 and just one year ago from the Benghazi terrorist attack. They encourage us to pray for Israel as she sits like a sitting duck in Israel. Peace and safety to Israel.

  • Don’t Allow Temptation to Push You; You Push Back Temptation
John, Pat, and Chris discuss the importance of not allowing temptation to push you but instead for you to push back temptation. In this abiding moment they share
that Christians today because of technology have more opportunity to fall into temptations than they did in previous generations. They continue to discuss how not to long ago television would actually begin and end at a certain time each day. There was no such thing as the 24/7 programming that exists today or the 500 to 1,000 television channels at your disposal. Neither did they have internet and the ability to carry the internet on portable digital devices. In this abiding moment they discuss the temptation and how as Christians we are warned on how to respond to it. Temptation by itself is not sin its how we respond to the temptation. They caution us to walk in humility which is total dependency on God and respect for other people. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that “…God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” God’s expectation from his Word is that you will be able to bear the temptation. In other words you can stand up, stand against, and push back temptation. And God is faithful to provide a way, an escape to help you and me away from the temptation. Satan does not have any new bag of tricks he wages schemes and has strategic plans designed to tempt you into sin but God is faithful and can empower us by his grace to bear it, push back temptation and He will provide us a way of escape.

  • Don’t Give in, Don’t Give up; Persevere
In this abiding moment John, Pat and Chris share the importance of not giving in or giving up and the need to persevere. Many people today try and give up when things get tough. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:35-36, “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” The word of God instructs us not to throw away our faith and confidence in God but to keep it and hold on to it. The enemy does the complete opposite and does everything in his power to get us to give in and give up. If you are not clear in your vision then Satan is happy to give you one to distract you and get you to stop. However, we are encouraged to persevere; which means to persist in anything undertaken. To persevere means the need to maintain purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, and discouragement. God has called us to live by faith; faith that perseveres. They encourage us to have a vision and to stay the course and if we don’t give up or given in our persevering faith will be rewarded by God.

  • Vessel Made Ready for the Master’s Use
John, Pat and Chris discuss how you can be a vessel made ready for the master’s use. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 2:20-21 “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” They continue to discuss how you have to let go of what was to take hold of what is by faith. God is trying to shape you into a beautiful vessel he can use. They encourage us to allow him to transform, mold and shape us. We must be willing to let go of things and seasons in our life to embrace what God wants to bring us to. You must be willing to give up the vessel you are now and put yourself on the potter’s wheel and allow God to do the shaping and molding of you so that you can be a new vessel designed and shaped for a special purpose. You use to be a small juice glass vessel that was good to be poured into; God wants to make you a vessel that is used in Hands to pour out into others that which He has poured into you. Are you ready to be a vessel for the master’s use?

  • It’s about doing what God wants us to DO
Chris, John and Pat discuss the importance of doing what God wants us to do. They share about how in 2 Chronicles 35 King Josiah was getting things right according to the word of the Lord and he instructs the priest to put the ark in the temple of the Lord because they no longer needed to carry the ark on their shoulders but were to spend their time ministering the word of God and to His people. They continue to share the importance of not carrying what God has called us to do in our on strength. Our strength is failing but the Lord’s is strong. It’s okay to hear God and to do what He tells you to do. In one season he may tell you one thing and the next season another. What’s important is that we do what He tells us to do.
