Whenever people find out I sold my first podcast, they always have the same questions.
What?! How?!
I didn't even know that was possible. Could I sell mine?
How many downloads were you getting?
How much did you sell it for?
After it happened again recently with an upcoming guest, I figured it was time to put the information in a nice, neat little podcast episode so I don't have to keep explaining it. ;)
Now, to be perfectly clear ... this is NOT an episode about how to sell a podcast. It's just the story of how I unexpectedly found myself selling mine back in 2018.

"I don't edit my podcast because I want it to sound natural."
Every time I see or hear a statement like the one above, I can't help but roll my eyes. And, no, it's not just because I'm a podcast editor who thinks people don't appreciate what they do. I mean, that's true ... but that's not really the point here. ;) As someone who's been in the podcasting industry for over five years, I can promise you that not editing your podcast is doing FAR more harm than good. Take a listen to this quick solo episode to find out why that's the case and what you should be doing instead if you really want your podcast to succeed. To learn more about the resources mentioned in this episode, visit the show notes.

In this special episode, I'm re-airing my interview with Jenny Suneson who is a former social media strategist and coach turned podcast services agency owner.
Jenny is hosting a FREE event starting next Monday that I think anyone interested in podcasting or who already has a podcast should attend and she asked me to give a presentation.
So, I wanted to do a special replay of this episode to let you know about the event and (re)introduce you to Jenny.
During our conversation, Jenny shares why she actually likes that podcasters don’t have access to a lot of analytics for their show and audience, how she helps her clients not focus so much on their download numbers, the importance of understanding that podcasting is a long-game, the multiple benefits she started seeing from her podcast once she had been doing it for about a year, what it’s been like to rebrand her entire podcast as she pivots her business into an entirely new industry, and her two main tips for those wanting to start a podcast.

I'm officially back from hiatus and we're kicking things off with Clubhouse!
If you've spent any time in any entrepreneurial or podcasting communities in the past month, I'm just going to assume you've heard or seen the word "Clubhouse" 18,001 times already.
(Just in case you haven't, it's an audio-only app that lets people host chats or discussions about pretty much anything and it's taken off like crazy.)
In this quick episode, I share why you might have to wait to join the Clubhouse craze, whether I think it's a beneficial new tool podcasters should be utilizing or just another shiny object to distract us, and an amazing free resource to help you get your bearings on the app and make the most out of it.

In this quick announcement, I explain why I'm taking a brief hiatus from the podcast and provide you with a list of previous episodes to check out if you're interested in starting a podcast, want to get to know me better, or are curious about my most popular episodes. I also explain why you should stay subscribed to the show during the hiatus. I'll see you soon!
NOTE: I accidentally said "episode 4" instead of "episode 74" when referencing the Podcast Quick-Start Guide episode.
