On Tuesday, I hosted my welcome call for the podcast launch cohort, and it reminded me of something so important: once you commit to a big goal, life has a funny way of pushing back. We tend to think that once we set an intention, everything should flow perfectly, but that is rarely the case.

I’ve been there myself more times than I can count. The moment I decide to level up, my mind starts spinning doubts, and life throws a random challenge my way. It is almost as if the universe is testing my resolve to see if I truly want this. If you are feeling that resistance right now, just know that you are not alone, and you definitely should not let it stop you.

I recorded this episode from my car while my daughter is in dance class. I have my microphone plugged into my phone and my laptop beside me. It is not a perfect studio setup, but it gets the job done. I mention this because it's easy to think you need the perfect environment or a massive budget to start a podcast. You don’t. All you really need is your story and the courage to share it.

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about the power of representation. I know life feels fragile, especially with recent news, and that is exactly why I feel such a strong pull to encourage you to start now. We have a unique opportunity to build our own tables, invite the people we love to them, and say exactly what we need to say. You don’t need permission from anyone else to start, and that is the beauty of this medium.

Hayden’s death really shook me this week because we were so close in age; she was only 36, and I am 33, and it reminded me that life is so short and it doesn’t wait for us to be “ready.” 

We spend so much time waiting for the perfect moment, to have more money, when the kids are older, but time and life keep moving forward! 

The only guarantee in life is death! So start living now. Write the book, start the business, take the trip, start the podcast! Whatever's on your vision board, go for it! The time is now!
