Cynthia, from St Louis, Missouri, is my guest with a dream about finding herself in the back seat of a car, traveling downhill fast, with no driver.
Summoning pure will, she got the car to slow down, turn in the required direction, and stop. She got out, settled herself into the driving seat, and noticed that her three year old daughter was in the car, only she was now eight or nine years old.
Listen in to find out what happened next in Cynthia’s dream, and join us as we explore and interpret the whole dream, relate it to Cynthia’s life, and create and apply dream alchemy.

As a guest on The Dream Show you are guaranteed anonymity, but if you wish you are welcome to share your details. Cynthia mentioned her work during the dream interpretation, so after we finished recording I asked her if she’d like to share. She said yes: You can find Cynthia, and her business, Dare to Dream.

Alexandra, from England, is my guest with a dream about a half dead cat and two dead mice in a dark, dusty cellar she hasn’t visited in twenty years.
Alexandra hasn’t seen David, her dream brother, for all these twenty years, and when she knocks on his door and enters his rubble-filled, cobwebby room in the cellar, she is drawn more to the cat and what she can do to rescue it, than she is to David.
She breastfeeds the cat to bring it back to health, but what to do about David? She simply doesn’t care about him. Or does she? What actions does she take, and how does her dream relate to her waking life?
Accustomed to working deeply with her dreams, Alexandra had already uncovered the basics, but felt she wasn’t getting to the core of the meaning of her dream. Listen in as we explore and interpret the dream, find that core, and create the dream alchemy.

My guest this episode is Gillian, from the south coast of Australia. Gillian has had a recurring dream theme about forgetting to look after a baby, or neglecting a baby in some way, so when she had a dream about a baby with a positive ending, she was excited to discover what it meant.
In her dream, Gillian is enjoying a holiday at a Guest House, dining at a long table, when it’s announced that kangaroo is on the menu. She doesn’t want to eat kangaroo, so she decides to slip away and get pie instead, but someone says the cook will be cross if she eats pie. Kangaroo, it seems, is mandatory.
There’s a scene involving a tree inhabited by squatters, and a baby that is safe in Gillian’s arms but suffers traumatically when other people take a turn at holding her. Just when Gillian’s distress about the baby reaches a crescendo, a saviour steps in with a healing solution.
What does the dream mean? How does it relate to Gillian’s life, and how can she use the insight she gains from our exploration and interpretation of her dream to help resolve a key issue?
Towards the end of the episode, we talk about Gillian’s recurring dream theme about forgetting or neglecting babies – a common theme for many dreamers – and I take Gillian through a dream alchemy visualisation designed to bring her unconscious mind into alignment with the outcomes she’s seeking to achieve in life.

We begin with a dream about a plane journey, or, to be more accurate, a dream about a plummeting plane. What does the dream mean, and what can we learn from journeying into our dreams?
Next up, a dreamer takes a more fantastical journey into a television set, ending up inside a video game. How can his dream help him with the practical and emotional issues he meets in his life?
Aside from dreams about journeys, how can our dreams assist us to explore our inner territory, to journey within to find perspective, clarity, insight, and healing?
Listen in as we skim the surface and also go deep. You’re guaranteed to emerge from this short listening journey with renewed inspiration to explore your dreams, and refreshed confidence in how to work with them in meaningful ways.
Do please share this podcast. Everyone dreams!

Have you ever thought of joining a dream group, or founding one?
We begin this episode exploring the practicalities of running a dream group, and perhaps, by the time you’ve finished listening, you’ll be inspired to get going and set up a group of your own. You’ll be on the move.
I’m on the move, or, at least, I will be in a few months time when we move interstate and to a very different environment, a big change of frame for us after 23 years of living in Brisbane. In this episode, we play with the ‘on the move’ theme, delving into changes of frame and perspective, and looking at how to identify and resolve inner conflict that can emerge when we contemplate change.
As always with The Dream Show, you’ll absorb new techniques for working with your dreams, and a good dose of inspiration to use what the night brings to help you move forward in your life.

Join hypnotherapist and Women’s Business and Transformation Coach, Caty Pasternak, and I in this episode for a conversation about what our dreams represent and how we can use them to live a more expansive life.
And oh, yes, along the way Caty asks about her recurring dream of getting back with an ex and things still not working out between them, which leads us to explore her dream and then move on to look at how to approach and interpret dreams involving people we know.
This episode of The Dream Show is a little different from our usual formats. Caty invited me to be her guest on her show, Sexy Soul Radio, which is available both as an audio podcast on iTunes. We covered so much ground that I asked Caty if we could share the conversation on The Dream Show, and she was delighted to do so.

We blend the science of dreaming with the mysteries of synchronicity to distil clarity and meaningfulness from a dream I had earlier this year.
There’s nothing like synchronicity to jolt you into new levels of awareness, or to drive you deeper into an appreciation of life’s mysteries, and when that synchronicity relates to a surreal dream, its power to awaken and enlighten is multiplied. I think you’ll enjoy my story.
Are all dreams meaningful? Are some dreams more meaningful than others? Are you dreaming enough to be healthy on all levels: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually? What can you do to ensure quality dreaming? Which dreams are the best ones to work with to uncover meaningful insight into your life?
Join me for the answers to these questions and more, as well as to hear my story and learn tips on how to approach dreams that reverberate through synchronicities.

My guest is lucid dreaming expert Stefan Z, from the UK, sharing his top tips on how to have lucid dreams, and explaining the benefits of lucid dreaming including nightmare control, questioning your dream characters and dream symbols to discover their meaning, and a raft of other exciting opportunities that lucid dreaming can bring you.
We also discuss the importance of balancing lucid dreaming with allowing your normal dreams to flow naturally and complete their necessary processing. Stefan’s advice is to aim for just one lucid dream a week. After all, he says, and I agree, that one lucid dream experience can leave you in a state of wonder for days, so enjoy that!
If you are already a frequent lucid dreamer, you’ll enjoy listening to Stefan’s approach and insights, and if you’ve always wanted to lucid dream but not yet been successful, these are solid tips that will take you there.
Stefan also brings one of his non-lucid dreams for us to interpret.

“Pick me, pick me!” wrote Jann from Western Australia, eager to be a guest on The Dream Show after a dream from five years ago mysteriously fell from an old file while she was sorting out her office.
It was as if the old dream itself was calling, ‘Pick me, pick me!” urging Jann to revisit what was a very moving dream, but one that she didn’t explore at the time. When she noticed that the dream was sitting right next to one of my books on her desk, she decided to look up my website and discovered The Dream Show.
My curiosity was piqued: why did the dream reappear quite dramatically at this point in Jann’s life? What light might her dream shed on both what was going on for her five years ago and what’s going on for her now?
Piqued, I picked.
As you know, guests keep their dreams a surprise for me. I hear the dream for the first time after we begin recording, so when you listen to a podcast you share the experience of hearing the dream as I hear it, and exploring and interpreting the dream as it happens.
Jann knew the formula, but she couldn’t resist emailing me to say that although she wouldn’t say anything about the dream, she had experienced a run of synchronicities and insights during the 72 hours between contacting me and getting ready to record our conversation, and that she had a relevant photo she wanted to send.
Curious though I was, I asked Jann to reserve sending me the photo until we had recorded the podcast, so that it wouldn’t influence my approach to the dream.
Jann duly sent it after we did the recording, and she’s very happy to share it – her painting of the Warrior of the Dreamtime – here.
You’ll understand why when you listen!
While most of our guests choose to remain anonymous, Jann, an award-winning artist, is delighted to share her art with you on her Imajannation Facebook page.
Listen in to hear the whole story, what the dream means, what the synchronicities mean, and what happens next for Jann.

This episode is studded with stories, and in-between the storytelling is an exercise you can do to get a fresh perspective on the meaning of a dream.
It’s an exercise in storytelling. You get a prominent symbol from a dream to tell the whole dream story from its perspective. Listen in to find out how to do this. It’s easy, fun to do, and very enlightening!
There’s the story of my return to my childhood home in the UK, the story of my granddaughter’s thirst for stories from my childhood, the story about the photograph of my sister and I and a chimpanzee, and the story of a wishing tree.
And if that all sounds rather magical, this episode includes a chat about how our dreams help us to solve problems, in alignment with the advice passed through many generations to ‘sleep on it’.
Which is topical, because my first book was called ‘Sleep on it’ (published by Harper Collins in 1994), and this episode of The Dream Show comes out just after the publication of my seventh book, The Dream Handbook (published by Hachette in Australia and Little Brown, Piatkus in the UK), so the show finishes with an outline of the book and where to buy it.
Enjoy the stories and the learning about dreams!
