Point Breakaway: A show about the LA hockey scene

13 year NHL veteran Andy Sutton joined the season finale of Point Breakaway with Josh Cooper and Shane O'Brien to talk about his time in the NHL, how he made it to the show, and what he is doing now as the president of the hockey equipment company Verbero Hockey and Wholesale Sports inc. Plus, 'Sutts' tells the boys about his homestead in Fallbrook California, where he lives with his young son and wife with 100 fruit trees, a dozen or so vegetable gardens, chickens, goats, and alpacas!

OB and Coop also recap the rebuilding seasons for the Ducks and the Kings, and how the future looks bright for both squads moving forward.

Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Pronger joins OB and Coop to discuss his legendary playing career and how working in the NHL player safety department, post playing career, has helped pave the way towards his current job, as Dale Tallon's top advisor in Florida with the Panthers.  Chris shares insight on becoming an Anaheim Duck, what Brian Burke and his family mean to him and how players like Niedermayer and Selanne, Getzlaf and Perry, pushed him to be a better player in Anaheim, where they all would win the Stanley Cup.

Chris also offers his opinion on the Norris Trophy voting, and he provides insight on his relationship with the referees too. Cam Fowler, Anaheim Ducks defender, joins OB and Coop to talk about his rehab on his injured knee, the Ducks new training facility, how excited he is for the young players, and the Ducks, as the retool continues. Cam talks about his time in the Detroit minor hockey system, how his Ducks teammates are aiding first responders with a meals donation program at UCI.

Finally, OB and Coop gush over Cam's NBA Jam game that he has in his game room.

Former LA King Teddy Purcell joins Shane and Josh to look back on his NHL career, including two tours of duty with the Los Angeles Kings.

Teddy educates the podcast on the lore of the historic George Street, and the legendary party that it is, in his home and native Newfoundland.

Teddy looks back on playing with great players like Connor McDavid in Edmonton, Steven Stamkos and Martin St. Louis in Tampa Bay and Drew Doughty in Los Angeles and what they have meant to him during his career.

Teddy also talks about his relationship with Dean Lombardi, Andy Murray, Jon Cooper and Steve Yzerman and the off ice side of the NHL business.

Purcell also tells the boys what he is up to now, working with Adam Oates, at the Oates Sports Group as a skills coach for fellow NHL players.

Ritchie also talks about his love and admiration for Torts, and how his current team in Arizona is raring to go, if and when the NHL lifts the pause on the season.

Ben Hutton, LA Kings defensemen stops by the pod to visit with OB and Coop to discuss how he is passing the time in quarantine, how he's trying to stay in shape for the final 10 games of the season and what he and his girlfriend are binge watching while they spend time back home in the Ottawa area.

Ryan Getzlaf joins OB and Coop to update the world on his chicken coop, which went viral during his video conference call with the NHL last week. Ryan discusses how he and his wife Paige are wrangling their four kids during the covid-19 pandemic, keeping them busy with online school and outdoor activities in the family batting cage and outdoor hockey rink.
