There are more than a dozen picket locations set up today for Day 6 of the DC 33 strike.

Striking workers from the city's largest blue collar workers union are near City Hall, the airport, police headquarters, and multiple sanitation centers.

Contract negotiations resumed yesterday (Saturday) for several hours. Though neither side is saying how much progress may have been made.

The strike is having a major impact on the city's services, including trash removal during the busy July 4th holiday weekend.

Trash pick up across the city has been suspended for the duration of the strike, and while residents can drop their trash off at designated collection centers for now, those sites are seeing mounds and mounds of trash.

This morning, a large trash fire burned at Milnor and Robbins Streets in Tacony this morning. It was quickly put out.

The union that represents white collar city workers, DC 47, is also up for a new contract with the city. But it has not authorized a strike yet for its workers.
