Mary welcomes first time guest Daniel Degner, president of Wisconsin Family Council, to bring us a Wisconsin legislative and election update. As with many things, in particular Wisconsin Supreme Court elections, not only do these have consequences in our state, but reverberate around the nation. We talk about April 7th election and in particular the Supreme Court battle. Then we look through a legislative lens at the issue of requiring ID to visit adult content sites, and sports gambling which has skyrocketed since 2024. Wisconsin has its own laws but now we face online gambling beyond our tribal casinos. We rejoice that WFC is celebrating 40 years of service to our state! A full hour of breaking down the latest in the Badger State and how these issues affect all of our families.

Grace’s dad’s new book, Is The Government Legally Killing Us?, has held the #1 spot on Amazon for two weeks since its March 10 release. Today, Crash interviews Scott about the book and the urgent concerns it raises. Their conversation dives into how government policies shape what doctors and hospitals are permitted or encouraged to do, whether patients truly receive informed consent, and if families fully understand their rights and options during critical medical decisions.
They also examine why financial incentives can influence life-and-death care and what ordinary people can do to advocate effectively for a loved one in a medical crisis. These difficult but important questions are explored in depth throughout the book. You can learn more or get a copy here: https://book.ouramazinggrace.net/

Mary welcomes back Jameson Taylor of American Family Association to continue our focus this week on engaging the culture, for the common good. While the gatekeepers change, the rules of engagement do not: the Bible as the moral authority for every human who ever lived. Today we shine a light on some of the important issues. Speaking of the rulebook, we chat about Texas and Oklahoma’s reintroduction of the Bible into public education. Bold and likely to be framed as forcing our worldview on others, there is no forcing, considering we as believers have been enduring the worldly worldview our entire lives. It’s more of a skirmish in a much wider war. We discuss discourse in the face of marketplace vitriol from those who want to be self-ruled; Costco’s decision not to distribute the abortion pill; and some activity in the Wisconsin legislature. We can never be over-equipped in a world that still needs to figure out what a woman is.

NEW PODCAST: On this special solo edition of Stand Up For The Truth, Dave Wager asks a loaded question many of us don’t stop to think through: What are we really asking when we sing “God Bless America”? This isn’t just about waving flags or reciting patriotic songs. Dave unpacks the biblical reality that blessing always comes with responsibility. Drawing from Psalm 33:12—“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”—he challenges listeners to consider whether we’re seeking comfort or commissioning. Have we used our blessings to glorify God and serve others, or have we settled into comfort and forgotten the Giver?
From the roots of Irving Berlin’s famous song to the fiery furnace of Daniel 3, Dave walks us through what true loyalty looks like—loyalty to God first, even when national pride gets loud. Patriotism isn’t wrong, he says, as long as it doesn’t eclipse obedience to the Lord. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn’t start a rebellion, but they drew a clear line. The call is the same for us today: respect authority, pray for leaders, and live lives marked by godliness and dignity—but never bow to what contradicts God’s Word.

Today we’ll be rebroadcasting our conversation with David Horowitz, the influential author, speaker, and conservative activist who passed away 4/29/25 at the age of 86 after a long battle with cancer. Best known for his memoir Radical Son and for boldly confronting radical ideologies on college campuses, Horowitz spent a lifetime navigating—and ultimately rejecting—the political extremes of the American Left. From his early days among Marxists and Black Panthers to his fierce advocacy for free speech and Western values through the David Horowitz Freedom Center, his voice remained unapologetically clear. His journey from revolutionary to Reagan Republican left a permanent mark on America’s culture wars.
[Original airdate: 2/16/23] TODAY’S GUEST: David Horowitz is founder of the David Horowitz Freedom Center and the bestselling author of several books, including Radical Son, The Black Book Of The American Left, Dark Agenda: The War To Destroy Christian America, and his brand new book, FINAL BATTLE: THE NEXT ELECTION COULD BE THE LAST. Final Battle, by David Horowitz, exposes the real threat that Democrats pose to freedom. The rise of socialism and critical race theory, coupled with threats to the Electoral College and Senate, an independent judiciary, and the integrity of the electoral system, now threaten to destroy the traditions that bring Americans together — the heart of our democracy. …Americans now speak in different and antagonistic political languages, and the two parties are so polarized that the American way of life itself is at risk.

PASTOR CLAUDE STAUFFER
Mary welcomes back Pastor Claude Stauffer of Calvary Chapel Amityville, NY to talk about his latest book, “Your Greatest Patriotic Duty”. Our discussion covers a variety of topics from voting, to political polarization, to evangelism to revival. Christians often disengage from the election process, stating that the lesser of two evils in candidates is no choice at all. When it comes to matters of conscience, Christians vary widely and voting is probably at the top of their list. But even when it comes to thankfulness for our relatively free and peaceful lives, Christians ought to engage in the process. The issues are important, from pro-life to being able to share the gospel freely. We also talk about revival. What is it? Does the Bible teach or prophesy about it? How might it look today, in a church that is more engaged in deception, pride and false teaching than it is engaged in evangelism. A thoughtful hour. Pastor Claude presently serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Hope, a church he has served from its beginning in 1993. He served bi-vocationally as a pastor and social worker for 16 years. He serves as a chaplain on the New York State Chaplaincy Task Force. His latest work is “Your Greatest Patriotic Duty”, his 30th book.

Paul Tittl
Today’s podcast featured Wisconsin State Representative Paul Tittl, discussing faith, government, and misconceptions about politics. Host Dave Wager and Paul began with Romans 13:1-2, emphasizing that governing authorities are established by God. Paul shared how his faith guides his work and how his Capitol Bible study attracts legislators from all parties. Dave Wager admitted his perception of government changed after visiting Madison, realizing that despite political divisions, many in government are genuine, respectful people.
Paul Tittl is an American businessman and politician. From Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Tittl owns Vacuum & Sew Center and Paintball Paul’s. Tittl also served on the Manitowoc County Board of Supervisor and Manitowoc Common Council. In November 2012, Tittl was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly as a Republican.
The discussion then explored the role of government versus the church in addressing societal needs like mental health and poverty. Paul noted that government has taken over responsibilities once handled by the church, leading to less faith-based outreach. They also touched on political power struggles, the unintended consequences of government programs, and how leadership should serve the people rather than personal agendas. The episode encouraged listeners to be informed, prayerful, and engaged with their representatives, challenging them to rethink how they view and support government.

Mary welcomes Julaine Appling back to the podcast to talk about citizenry at the local level. With a plethora of headlines of late related to a federal swamp draining of immense proportions, what is going on in the states? While we focus a lot on Wisconsin in these programs, many states have or will have to deal with similar issues. Today we look at how Governor Evers continues to change the landscape here with his attempts to move away from a representative form of government, something every blue state citizen should be concerned about. Then we look at “baby boxes” and this much-needed pro-life move to protect newborns. Also on the docket, “demographic winter” – what it means when a generation chooses pursuit of self to the exclusion of raising the next generation. Finally, a look at 2025 elections, because, those annoying ads are back already! Julaine serves Wisconsin Family Council as president emeritus. Wisconsin Family Council, organized in 1986, is the only organization in Wisconsin dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the natural family. Happy National Marriage Week!
