In this week’s episode we finally dive into the story of arguably the United Kingdom’s most powerful haunting; the case of The Black Monk of Pontefract. With Tim Hacker of the Cryptic Chronicles Podcast (www.CrypticChronicles.com), our story begins when the Farrar family purchased a new home built over land with a dark history only to be driven away when they realized their baby might be in danger. When the Pritchard's moved in shortly after, it would not be long until their world too would be turned completely upside down. With activity so powerful it could reliably spook a hardened skeptic there were times the Pritchard's even feared for their life. In the extended show we discuss the spectacular fall-out from the ill-fated exorcism the family performed and some of the most remarkable instances of high-strangeness ever recorded which shortly followed, often characterized by religious themes. Near the end we discuss if the Black Monk is truly a poltergeist, a ghost, an Elemental or even a demon while exploring a number of the psycho-spiritual factors which likely made the activity so potent and what finally stopped it.
