In this episode I sit down with a good friend Mat, who is a really awesome Teacher and great advocate for history and the importance it plays in our lives as citizens of the world, but as Christians. As Mat is an American educator living in the Midwest, we mostly focus on history around America, but we do venture into some wider contexts. Often Christians will look at ministry, outreach, mission and the like, through the lens of how we've done it before. While this can be a useful tool, it can often get bogged down in idealizing the past, and that can do harm to our discipleship and development as humans, Christians and churches.
