It’s time to review the books Erica and Kevin gave each to read. Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison and Dave McKean. Hitman: A Rage in Arkham by Garth Ennis and John McCrea. Noragami by Adachitoka. Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. We then review The Wire and give Wes Craven a send off.

This episode is a mix and match of some old conversations. It’s the usual. Comics, anime, religion, and babies? We do give each other reading assignments for next episode and half of that is already recorded. So look forward to that.

Erica gives Kevin a great idea for Smiths parody band called “Unnecessary Sadness” and Kevin asks Erica to make up super hero powers based on name alone. Also a review of anime show Sword Art Online.

We discuss an awesome Youtube documentary called Under the Influence: 2 Tone Ska (see embed below). We go down the hole of being a nerdy sensitive kids and finding punk/ska as an outlet for being picked on. Then we give our impression of our first experience with Pathfinder (Dungeons & Dragons).

Today’s show starts with us talking about a magical hiking trip in the Columbia Gorge to see waterfalls which leads to “no-shoe” guys and then we introduce the Nike Air Jesus. We have spoilerific review of Daredevil. Then some more book and zine talk including: Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams, The World is Big Enough Without You and Let’s Wreck Their Precious Perfect Little Town by Julia Eff, and Lasterday by Trace Ramsey. Erica discovers a whole new world with reusable menstrual cups.

 

The first 30 minutes are heavy on language and lets be honest. Kevin comes off stupid while Erica schools him. Hawkeye and Captain America have to apologize for Avengers interview. A new Star Wars trailer is released. Kevin reviews Hitman: A Rage in Arkham by Garth Ennis and John McCrea. We sum it up with speculation on the Batman vs. Superman trailer.

 

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS! It’s been a while, but we talk about out ECCC experience and all the books we bought: Bitch Planet by Kelly Sue Deconnick, Oh Joy, Sex Toy by Erika Moen, The Legend of Bold Riley by Leia Weathington & Jonathon Dalton, and Politically Inqueerect by Dylan Edwards. We also discuss of Hannibal and Daredevil. It rubs the lotion on it’s skin.
