Underworld Duck and a Lizard Sandwich
Inspired by the late Harry Dean Stanton, whether it's fearlessly wading into the debates over controversial new releases or creating singularly unappetising food metaphors, we don't give a duck. In Off the Shelf, Rob and Graham review a double-bill of Italian horror from Arrow with Mario Bava's "Kill Baby, Kill" (a.k.a. Curse of the Dead) and Lucio Fulci's "Don't Torture a Duckling", separated by Ryan looking at Eureka's U-certificate but no less eccentric "Journey to the Centre of the Earth".
Crikey! We're up to our film of the week and it's Darren Aronofsky's none-more-divisive "Mother!"
Which side of the widening opinion canyon will Ryan and Graham end up on?

TAG! Stephen King's It!
This week Buñuel fans Aidan and Graham get drunk on the 're-release' of "Belle de Jour", while Rob and Ryan are the designated drivers. A singular Film of the Week leads us to a diverse set of recommendations for things to watch, and there's our usual Question of the Week (which is about secret lairs and societies but don't tell anyone because they're supposed to be secret).
We also have two Minority Reports and one home video review - which does raise the question of whether it's still a Minority Report when it's the majority - but never mind. Graham has Eureka/Masters of Cinema's Blu-Ray release of Naomi Kawase's "The Mourning Forest", while Rob and Ryan go to the cinema for Taylor Sheridan's "Wind River" and Andy Muschetti's "It" respectively. Which is scarier - institutionalized racism or clowns?
That's a trick question as the answer is obviously '80s nostalgia.

We Don't Talk About the Monkey Ghosts
We wait ages for Rob to return, and when he does there are the two of them! Not only that, it's a dramatic return as he struggles to get to grips with Seijun Suzuki's unclassifiable "Zigeunerweisen" - and yes he did practice his pronunciation. Clever Boy.
The rest of Team Eclectica discuss Robert Aldrich's noir-ish "The Big Knife" and a formula one documentary about a certain UK team that's simply called "Williams", before giving way to some utterly unapologetic gushing about "Day of the Jackal". This all leads to our Film of the Week, in which Ryan and Rob simultaneously agreed and disagreed about Juan Carlos Medina's "The Limehouse Golem" (we're not sure how that is possible either).

Pinocchio Must Seek Therapy
It's a battle of the bands in Off the Shelf this week, with "The Slayer" going up against "Clash". Will the former reign in blood, or will Mohammad Diab's tale of young Egyptians fighting the law and the law winning do an, er …
… does anyone else know any good puns about The Clash? No? OK - there's more than enough classic rock and pop in our film of the week "Atomic Blonde", anyway.
There's also all the usual features, including recommendations and a Question of the Week about unfaithful adaptations. As you'd expect, it basically turns into Monty Python's Yorkshire-men sketch, with Alan Moore and Stephen King fans arguing over who's been served a worse hand by Hollywood.

Valerian's Geordie Space Market
We get a guest expert in on this show, which is fortunate as one of the team reveals he's never seen a film before. Despite this handicap we press on with our review schedule with Graham unearthing the forgotten British TV movie "Mrs. Morison's Ghosts", Mick enjoying the drokk out of "Future Shock: The Story of 2000 A.D." and Aidan not able to believe that we haven't already seen Satyajit Ray's "The Music Room". Fortunately Criterion can help us out on that front.
After an intergalactic Question of the Week, we're off to the City of a Thousand Planets for Luc Besson's "Valerian" (no psychic jellyfish were harmed in the making of this film).

Even David Cronenberg Has His Limits
Above all else, Cinema Eclectica wants to heal your soul.
Do you have traumatic memories of Watership Down? Ryan's review of BFI Flipside's "The Orchard End Murder" might be able to help. Is your home life confusing? It can't be as confusing as Vittorio de Sica's "Marriage, Italian Style", reviewed by Aidan. And if you're just worried that you're a bit messed up, well … we all felt a bit better about our own hang-ups after hearing Rob review "Kuso" - the debut film from Flying Lotus.
Our therapeutic odyssey culminates in one of the most sensitive and psychologically accurate motion pictures ever created - Ed Wood's "Glen or Glenda". They don't make 'em like that any more, but before you think of thanking any higher power remember that next week sees the release of "The Emoji Movie".

Cinema du Eric Cartman
You know there's a new Tom Hardy film out when we bring out our silly voices to celebrate. That would be "Dunkirk" - our Film of the Week - and may we suggest some other movies to go with it? We may.
After the recommendations, there's Off the Shelf, with Aidan going one war older than Christopher Nolan with G.W. Pabst's "Westfront 1918" while Ryan and Graham team-up for a very different type of soldier in Karel Zeman's "The Fabulous Baron Munchausen" (our pronunciation has been corrected by a terrifying ghost child who has apparently invaded the studio). Finally the filmic canon is decimated by our vengeful Question of the Week before it's over to France for Nolan's new film about an old war.
And now it's time for Ryan to go to war with the internet.

Beverley Hills Wicker Man
How scared are you of the internet? Not as scared as you will be after Off the Shelf takes a look at Kiyoshi Kurosawa's technophobic J-horror classic "Pulse". Elsewhere, Ryan continues his quest for a good ghost story with "The Entity", and Graham reviews four movies in one with Cult Films's reissue of "Boccaccio '70". He should get a raise for that.
Our Question of the Week takes bizarre liberties with everything from Greek mythology to Frank Herbert's Dune, before we settle down for Sofia Coppola's "The Beguiled" as Film of the Week. As if that wasn't enough, there's also an exciting new feature, though Graham's jokes remain as ancient as ever.

Spiderman and the Spooky, Spooky House
In a change from the previously scheduled programming, we move from the landscape of a dusty post-apocalyptic horror to the skies above New York with Spiderman: Homecoming.
Away from all of the web-swinging and wall-crawling though, Rob dives into the magical world of Mamoru Hosoda's latest anime feature-film "Boy and the Beast", while Aidan travels back to 1979 to spend some time with the iconic haunted house movie "The Amityville Horror".
