This week, everything can be justified if you're rewarded with biscuits. In off the Shelf, we had new and classic Miike with Yakuza Apocalypse, Shakespearean epics from Japan with Kurosawa's Ran, an essay film from Grant Gee in Innocence of Memories. We also have a minority report on Captain America: Civil War. The main event and our feature presentation was our first ever foreign language headline act - the Oscar-winning Son of Saul.

This week we absolutely refuse any second-hand gags, bad Producer Rob. In off the shelf, we had all the best stuff from the 1980s; ridiculous action with the Zero Boys and crazy practical effects and gore from The Bride of ReAnimator. Otherwise, we had forgotten Stellan Skarsgaard picture In Order of Disappearance and gaming documentary Enter the Battlefield— Life on the Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour. Our film of the Week was Don Cheadle's Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead.

A special of a very different kind this week as we celebrate the UK debut of Criterion Collection. We have news, the question of the week and a trailer of the week all before off the Shelf becomes decidedly Criterion flavoured with Tootsie, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Speedy and Only Angels Have Wings. Our Feature Presentation is the Alan Rickman's final picture - political war movie, Eye in the Sky.

Back to Golden Age in more ways than one this week. Off the Shelf sees us delve into Golden Era Hollywood and BBC with Bengal Brigade, Sam Bass and Calamity Jane, Back to God's country and a continuation of last week's look at Peter Watkins BBC docs with the award-winning Culloden. Our feature presentation was Midnight Special.

Another go on the merry-go-round of trailers and films that never fully joined club Eclectica. Off the Shelf featured Italian neo-realism with Rocco and his Brothers, forgotten David Lean in The Sound Barrier, lesser Ealing in Pink String and Sealing Wax before closing out with the controversial Peter Watkins documentary The War Game. We also revisit some Second Run titles, Batman and an Apocalypse bunker.

This week we discover that Disney Deniers exist and are among us. In a change from the regularly scheduled programming we turn out a Disney special, with on the shelf dropped for a celebration of all things from the house of mouse. We look at the Fox and the Hound, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and the lost oddity of a Disney Short, Salvadore Dali's Destino. Our Feature Presentation is the wonderful Zootopia or Zootropolis - we just can't keep up.

We collect our podcast pension this week and just to keep up will all you whippersnappers we change things up. It's a Brave New World of Extreme Violence Modern Art and European Cowboys. Off the Shelf featured Nic Roeg's Eureka, Wim Wenders the American Friend sandwiching Evil Aliens and Iranian short doc, the House is Black. This week's feature presentation is Ben Wheatley's adaptation of J.G Ballard's High-Rise.

This week we have a narrator, that's cinema Eclectica - forever breaking new grounds. We also see the return of Aidan making for a full-strength off the shelf. Rob got messed up with the World of Kanako, Graham got classy with Shooting Stars (not that one), Ryan got done in the kitchen with a candle holder in Five Dolls for an August Moon and Aidan closed out with Samuel Fuller's White Dog. Our film of the week was the terrifying (the) Witch.

This week we discover that the witch is actually the most serious episode of Scooby-Doo ever. In off the shelf, we look at blaxploitation icon Pam Griers in Sheeba Baby, Swedish Surrealism in Songs from the Second Floor and new horror icon Goodnight Mommy. Our film of the week was the lavish ode to Hollywood in Hail, Caesar!

This week, we look over this year's Oscar ceremony and its lame-duck cousin - the Razzies. In a classy bit of counterprogramming, off the shelf unfolds with Graham tackling Absurd Czech New Wave comedy, the amazingly titled Tomorrow I’ll Wake Up and Scald Myself with Tea, Rob waxes lyrical about Panahi's Tehran Taxi and Ryan revisits one of his favourites in Miike's Audition. Film of the Week continues the alternative theme with Sacha Baron Cohen's Grimsby.
