With a short introduction in the beginning this a 4 hour marathon show by Yours Truly presenting the VARIETY OF MUSIC ! This production involves artists across genres and within the show. So if you think you are are listening to one hour of whatever YOU DONT !

Theme for the this show: "Something old, something you know, something you don´t..." (a GLENN MILLER SLOGAN, which is complete with ".. something Blue" !)

So please listen to the story of medleys, which started wth Glenn Miller and made James Last famous.

"Andrew Lloyd Webber Superstar" was a radio feature written
by Rainer Wallraf in 1984 - Prev. UNRELEASED in German in this version !

It covers ONLY the years 1972 - 1984 and the stage versions from
Joseph / Jesus Christ Superstar to Cats / Requiem:

Part 2 will be released shortly by myself and will start with "Phantom of the Opera" down to "Cinderella".

Me and my mentor, Rainer are proud to bring this exclusive to you, as me - his bothering collector - was capturing this episode on a casette playe while we were trying some things.
This explains the break in the middle, because I HAD TO TURN THE CASSETTE OVER .....

this was a pre-production test for a big BR, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Chistmas Show
captured here as a raw model on CC, cassette.

This show is based on the original tapes of what ended up as a 50min show at Radio Franken.
Recorded 1987 - as it stands (almost unedit) - in Nueremberg.

THIS IS THE FULL SHOW, first ever released and almost not re-edited.

It was the day I was proud to present Paul Kuhn and his Trio with Greetjy Kauffeld (vocals) at the Maritim Hotel; we had some difficultiers to keep formal as we became close friends on his birthday party and wedding with Ute Mann ( from the Singers), which took place at Cologne Philhmonic Hall at about tht time.

This production was ment to go online for the 2021 Olympics because Paul Kuhn was the first tv star to profit from the Olympic games in 1936 with the first tv broadcast ever.

In the band played famous soloists as Benny Bailey, Kurt Bong, Bobby Burgess, Eugen Cicero, Horst Jankowski,  Roman Dyląg, Rolf Ericson, Remy Filipovitch, Herb Geller, Slide Hampton, Joe Harris, Heinz von Hermann, Carmell Jones, Torolf Mølgaard, Walter Norris, André Paquinet, Milo Pavlović, Åke Persson, Al Porcino, Hans Rettenbacher, Rolf Römer, Ron Simmonds, Ronnie Stephenson und Leo Wright.  The Bigbandalso contributed to international productions with likes as Ray Brown, Ray Charles oder Quincy Jones.

But almost better known as Longest - serving member of the James Last Choir.

SIMON BELL was born in Glasgow, Scotland, where he started singing with local Soul bands in the mid sixties. He relocated to London in the early seventies in order to further his career as both a singer & songwriter.

Among the artists he has worked with are, MARVIN GAYE, HOT CHOCOLATE, LULU, ELKIE BROOKS, JULIO IGLESIAS, JAMES LAST, MADELINE BELL, DEMIS ROUSSOS, CILLA BLACK, ADAM & THE ANTS, LEO SAYER, MIGUEL BOSE, JOHNNY LOGAN, JOHNNY HALLYDAY, TWISTED SISTER, and his inspiration, the late, great DUSTY SPRINGFIELD, who requested that Simon sing "The Wind Beneath My Wings" at her funeral.
