Charles Aznavour
22nd May 1924 – 1st October 2018
was an Armenian-French singer, songwriter and actor. He was one of France's most popular and long lasting singers, and also one of the most well-known French singers in other countries.
Just few hours after his death Popmundial selected some of his greatest hits.
It was originally planned to integrate the clips to be heard on Vol. 2 now, but we decided to let the music speak.
Well, so too speak ? Producer´s/presenter´s note: "It was already very late when the news of his deth broke. I was too tired already to build a feature production. So I kept it with what Mr. "Cellophan Man" (musical "Chicago") once told me in an interview in London: "I want to be remembered for my music!"
So I selected this 3 hour show LIVE, edited just in 2021 for this media centre:"
Live broadcast evening of Ocober 1st, 2018
It was planned to integrate the clips heard on Vol. 2 now, but we decided to let the music speak, just hours after he singer-songwriter had passed away.

In October 2010 I picked up a nice guy and bag pipe player litterally on the street ! He was on vaccations from the marine and made some money on the streets and pubs. I invited him to play in my living room...
Well what I learned: the bag pipe player was a household name in the Celtic music industry; whoever arrived in his hometown, Brest, at the airport was already handed out a CD by him and his group, called Kataje.
Kataje is a fusion between rock and tons of bag pippers; listen to episode 1, please.
Listen here to a warm up with hits from Brittany and then the concert recorded live in Wimereux October 18th, 2010

"I want to be remembered for the music",
Charles Aznavour said in an interview with us - and certainly he will be immortal for the music:
a live appearance with Judy Garland´s daughter, Liza Minelli, in whihch is tries to teach Liza to sing in French
or one memorable last ever TV show appearances of him with French new-comer singer-songwriter ZAZ.
But he will be remembered also for some funny interviews.
Here is a collage of rarities, made by some collegues and myself, which didn´t make it into the show in 2018, moaning his death. A Showtime Extra for podcats only, Feb 22nd, 2021
A full length interview of mine in English will follow at a later stage.

Herb Alpert in Berlin !
This is a rare opportunity ! No concert, but yes a private one on occassion of an exhibition opening of Herb Alpert paintings in Prenzlauer Berg Berlin.
The Life of Herb Alpert !
Recorded as "Musikportrait", unknown for which radio station, but the quality of sound engeneering for the show suggests that it has been recorded in the DDR bunker in Oberschöeneweide of former ORB (now RBB), Antenne Brandenburg
(I think now: Sony Europe studios).
