These include the 964, 993 and 997 generations of the 911. Steve and I discuss his Porsche journey including his first 911 and the fun of Porsche ownership.

Reports are it is inevitable that the Porsche 911 will eventually become a hybrid, if not a full electric vehicle in the years to come. Originally rumoured to be launched at the refresh of the 992 generation this may now be delayed by a few years. Of course Porsche only gives out limited information so at the moment we are only guessing. Based upon the recent success of the Taycan,  maybe the electric 911 wont still be the elephant in the room in the years to come. Of course all good things take time and Porsche will not want to lose the essence, heritage and design of the 911.

Welcome back to another PorscheCooled Podcast.

An extra episode for this week as I have a lot to chat about. To start with let's revisit the 996 generation of the Porsche 911. The hype of this 911 is growing so rapidly. So much so, that if you don't buy one soon you may end up spending a lot more cash just to get behind the wheel. Unfortunately, this has not helped by the multitude of people on YouTube completing 996 'projects'. The bottom line for this generation of 911? Is the price to value ratio of the Porsche 996 generation still appealing? 

We also chat about the classic market and how it seems to be growing even through the Pandemic. The same can't be said for the new car market. Finally, what is more important - experience or speed? Which is relevant to my current 912 obsession.

The 991 generation Porsche 911 was the 7th generation of the iconic sports car. From the launch of the 991.1 and then the preceding 991.2 mid-cycle update, the 991 generation was in production from from 2011 to 2019. During this time it spawned around 29 variations including two race or not for the road models. Welcome back to another PorscheCooled podcast.

In todays Podcast we chat about the Porsche 911 GT3. The new 992 GT3 is on the horizon. It will be launched later this year as a 2021 model. We are already getting an idea of how it will look directly from Porsche and from its final testing on the Nürburgring. What will it look like and will it improve on the 991 generation? Already we know it looks like the Touring and manual will return in the 2021 model.
