Liverpool threw away a two-goal lead as they were held to a 2-2 draw by 10-man Arsenal, but the main talking point was the toxic reception Trent Alexander-Arnold received from supporters.

The Reds scored twice in quick-succession, but were pegged back after the break by goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino - who was later sent off for a second bookable offence.

Prior to Merino's equaliser, supporters turned on Alexander-Arnold following his introduction as a second-half substitute as the Liverpool vice-captain made his first appearance for his boyhood club since confirming he would leave at the end of the season.

The Reds remain 15 points clear of the second-placed Gunners, having already clinched the title, with three games left to play. But the Alexander-Arnold fallout threatens to overshadow the ongoing celebrations.
