Aaron chatted with us, giving some additional insight into this beautiful piece he did for the band. The poster is reminiscent of his Citi Vault series that has become something of a poster legend. We had the BEST time chatting with the amazing Helen Kennedy aka @zazzcorp about all things art, music, pizza and grilled cheese. Helen is from CT and got her start in the gig community by creating custom buttons to share at the Grateful Dead shows she was attending. Her passion for the Dead and its music started her down the path of gig art and she now has created art for iconic bands such as the Dave Matthews Band, Billy Strings, Dead & Co, Tedeshi Trucks Band and so many more! Welcome to our Charlottesville VA weekend recap episode. This episode is another fire one (get it… flames!?) of a deep dive for one of our favorite artists, James Flames. Today we review the Artist Proof version of the poster from the June 28, 2022 poster from Jones Beach Amphitheater- in Wantagh, NY. The title of this image is “ At The Very Break Between Night and Day”- and along this poster print, we have the accompanying James Flames artist poem. This is something unique that James does with his AP and AE prints. We also discuss some language around types of prints: the difference between SE (Show Edition), AP (Artist Proof) and AE (Artist Edition). This is really an incredible conversation, not just to go deep on this piece, but to get some additional insight from the creator and artist. Luke has made a name for himself in the last few years with some incredible pieces for the Dave Matthews Band, Phish, The Grateful Dead, Metallica, and Eddie Veder to name a few.
