Sharmon: I’m a registered psychological counsellor with a special interest in perinatal (Perinatal is the period of time when you become pregnant and up to a year after giving birth) mental health. I am also a mother of two little ones, a 4.5 year old and a 2 year old.
I have experienced pregnancy and postpartum to be incredible and empowering but also really hard! And through the work that I do I have realised I am definitely not alone in experiencing motherhood as this paradox. As a practitioner, I consider all the unique parts of you as a Mum. My primary goal is to help guide and support you in navigating the challenging parts of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
A focus in therapy is guiding you in connecting with yourself and feeling confident as the wonderful woman and mum that you are.
My priority is to create a safe and nurturing environment for you to feel supported in. I hope to reflect to you that you are already an incredible and worthy mother. Our goal is to get you to acknowledge that and work through ways in which you can mother from your best abilities while prioritizing
you!
