Puberty, Crushes, School dances... growing pains are here!
The series having a school dance is such a fun and memorable part of growing up and a great way to age up the characters
It does feel weird that Harry is forced to have a partner for a dance - he is only 14!
Hagrid had his interview with Rita Skeeter - but she just wanted tea on Harry
Why is Rita changing her angle on Harry?
Whats the protocol for firing a ghost teacher? The students need a good teacher that makes history interesting!
Harry is already back on his Procrastination - that's going to come back and bite him
Why did the Twins ask Ron for his owl if they didn't want him to ask questions?
This chapter gives us a lot of flash backs to school dances and our high school prom memories
Is getting ready for a dance better than the actual dance?
Should Harry just of taken Ron to the dance?

Ron is acting super enthusiastic to make it up to Harry - something he also does in DH
Love that Harry gave Sirius a full play-by-play on the first task
Ron just spoils Harry's surprise party and no one says anything?
How do the other houses throw parties?
Dean is the only one that really has a hobby
Harry opens the egg and Neville thinks it's the cruciatus curse - lots of foreshadowing hints about Neville's past and also Harry does have the curse used on him later on
Fred and George's canary creams are such advanced magic
Hermione trying to manipulate F&G to tell her about the kitchens is fun
Are the students getting drunk off the whisky fumes Hagrid set out for the Beauxbaton horses?
How is Rita able to just get onto the grounds when she was banned? This is a school! How does Hogwarts monitor visitors?
Should Harry just told Hagrid to not do anything with Rita even if it was rude?
Dobby is at Hogwarts!
Its very cool seeing Dobby again and how he is handling being a free elf, compared to Winky who is miserable
Winky let's slip that Crouch thinks Bagman is a bad wizard - we are getting lot of different hints about potential "bad guys" that through us off the real villain of this book
Ron offers Dobby his christmas jumper - but wouldn't Mrs Weasley just make Dobby his own sweater if asked?
We as Canadians try and figure out how pies fit in pockets
Percy is ragged on a lot in this chapter for not being able to take a joke / being a stick in the mud. He isn't even present!
It is interesting seeing how the other House Elves seem wary of Dobby
Has the SPEW plot aged well? It does get hard to read Hermione constantly being put down by everyone despite being right

The first task is coming and Harry is stressed
How would you defeat a Dragon?
Harry actually contemplates running away from Hogwarts
It's very mature of Harry to realize Cedric is the only one who doesn't know about the dragons and decides to tell Cedric
Shay compiles all the spells Harry does each year so far (the spells that are said verbally)
What are Harry's top three spells?
Harry has been into almost every DADA professors office - interesting
Ron seems to be trying to catch Harry's eye - but Harry is too angry do anything
Hermione should threaten Harry with Dragons more - it's how he learned the summoning charm
McGonagall has Harry's best interest at heart - we love her
The anticipation of waiting for Harry's turn in the first task is very relatable - like giving a public speech in school or waiting to ride a rollercoaster
Bagman offers to help Harry and Harry is suspicious
Harry's battle with the dragon is quite short compared to the movie
Is having the champions face real dragons cruel to the dragons?
McGonagall is probably chain smoking after this - and Pomfrey is pissed
Hermione brings Ron to Harry and Ron finally apologizes for not believing Harry - it is actually very mature of Ron to admit verbally he was wrong
Hermione bursts into tears and the boys look at her like she's crazy - but she's been through a lot!
Harry and Ron never really talk about their feelings - maybe they should of talked this through more
Bagman gives Harry a perfect score - does this seem to obvious?
Does having the two UK organizers as judges seem a bit bias for scoring?
It should be judged like Four Weddings!
Harry doesn't really care about his score because he has his Weasley back!

Bless Hermione coming in with toast
Hermione provides a great read on Ron and shows a lot of emotional growth from PoA
Harry tries so hard to hide the danger around casual conversation in his letter to Sirius
Ron really is the thing Harry would miss the most
Hermione gets caught in the crossfire of Harry's bad temper and Malfoy provoking him
This is hands down one of the worst Snape moments in the series - there is no reason to be rude to Hermione and it seems even more cruel to comment on a young teen girls appearance +2 Snape Sucks points
Colin is a lot - why does he have such hero worship of Harry still?
The photographer seems to be eying Fleur in a creepy way
There really should of been a chaperone or advocate for the champions since technically they are all students and Harry is a minor
We are introduced to Rita Skeeter and she is just as bad as we remember
How is the slander Rita writes allowed to go forth?
Olivander is back to look over the wands - and keeps the secret of Harry's wand core to himself
Its interesting the connection between the wands and the wizard
How would Fleur's wand differ by having the core that belongs to a relation?
Sirius is planning a get together and it sounds like a red flag

Why wasn't a more serious investigation into how Harry was entered?
Crouch is not doing well
Harry really has no agency
Poor Cedric has every reason to be pissed at Harry but he takes it in stride
It's so sad that Harry never thought Ron wouldn't believe him - never crossed his mind

Moody is now putting the Imperius Curse on the students to see if they can through it off - isn't it illegal???
Is Harry able to through off the curse because he has been hit with an Unforgivable Curse before or because he is a Horcrux?
Should Hagrid be teasing Malfoy about being turned into a ferret?
Hermione thinks Cedric is a good candidate because he is a good student and prefect and Ron brings up she only values him because he is Handsome - does this show Ron's immaturity about the opposite sex?
When did Hermione realize she had feelings for Ron that are more than friendship?
Filch has clean the whole castle for company by himself - seems unfair
F&G are short with Ron which is one of the first times we see them super secretive
Hermione is still going strong with SPEW despite the flack she has been getting from others

We love seeing a female school headmaster

Potter Revisited Episode #74 Mad Eye Moody AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 14 "The Unforgivable Curses"
Snape gives Neville the worst detention -disembowelling toads - +1 Snape Sucks because that has to be intentional
Snape seems wary of Moody
We know that this Moody is actually Barty Crouch Jr but he does a good job as a teacher
Dumbledore is the reason the Unforgivable Curses are being taught to the 4th years this year
There was no care in this class which has both Harry and Neville in it - who have trauma related to the curses they are seeing
Foreshadowing hint of Neville bringing up the Cruciatus Curse
It is very hard to think that Barty Crouch Jr knows who Neville is when he is one of the people that helped tortured his parents
It is one thing for Neville to volunteer the curse but we do not think he was prepared to see what the curse does knowing what happened to his parents
Harry seeing the spell that killed his parents is also hard to read, as he is reflecting on how they died
Hermione is the only one showing Neville kindness and looks out for him - he really is the odd one out
Could Harry and Ron's made up predictions for Divination be real?
Foreshadowing of the Twins blackmail plot
Hermione has started SPEW all within her first week back at school
Tori reveals herself as a Ron/Hermione shipper
Hedwig arrives back with Sirius' letter and Harry is worried
