Bio: MONIQUE MORMAN
Monique was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and is the youngest of four children. She is the mother of two daughters, and new grandmother to her grandson, affectionately known as Grandmaster J. Monique has never turned away from developing her talents, and always challenges herself to do more for her family and community.
Monique is the author of the D.A.G. nominated children’s book, THE LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL, published in January of 2019, and the Best Selling Co-Author of H.E.R. Story Anthology of Healing, published on January 13, 2022. She is also the chair and creative director of her Non-Profit Organization, I AM MY BROTHER’S KEEPER!, the chief cleaning specialist of her small business, Monique’s First Class Cleaning Business, and an active member of the Outreach Program and Drummer for her local church.
Monique continued to follow her dreams of acting, just prior to the COVID pandemic, appearing on the CBS hit tv drama, GOD Friended Me, and she was cast in the short film The Red Bill, as one of the main characters. Due to shut downs across the globe,
and the hold on film production, her career was also on hold. But Monique also had appearances on the Dr. Oz Show, System 20 episodes, and on the Mel Robbins Show Hoarding and Guest Updates episodes. Monique was intrigued by this particular taping, which was looking for participants confronting challenges with hoarding disorders. Monique was now stepping outside of her dreams, stepping out of her comfort zone, and most important, stepping out on faith, as she realized that God had given her a new- found calling to help others, looking for guidance, but were too ashamed, embarrassed, or even misled, on how to start the process. Monique shares her struggles and wins throughout her journey with Facebook posts, TikTok videos and other social media platforms. Monique’s story takes us through her experiences of loss, hurt and denial, showing that there is more to know than what is on reality television. There is a person in need of renewal, there is a person in need of compassion, and there is a person in need of healing.
Through her cleaning business, Monique has the innate ability to recognize the issues at hand, and assist where the help is needed most. She finds this as a therapeutic cleansing, as she is able to continue the daily regimen of managing her own disorder,
stating “When you can use the skills you’ve learned doing what you love, you automatically continue to love what you do!” She has also been instrumental in helping others learn to let go, and manage through the clutter left behind after a loss. Her Motto: “Every accomplishment, no matter how small is a WIN! Make sure you celebrate your WIN!”.
