        • Alexis Kingsbury: Miracle Morning, Time Blocking and Think and Grow Rich

Miracle Morning, Time Blocking and Think and Grow Rich with Alexis Kingsbury, serial entrepreneur and business consultant.

Listen Below and Here’s What We Recommended:
          Tools & Apps
          • iThoughts app – a mind mapping application. “It’s probably the best app and most powerful app that I use, and it’s the one I’m asked about most often when I’m at conferences because I take all my notes into iThoughts.”
          • My Fitness Pal app – fitness and food app for tracking data like meals, calories and exercise.
          • WordPress app – for blogging straight into a blog from a phone or tablet.
          • Intercom – a customer communication platform. “I have an application called ‘Intercom’, which is used by my software business for one of our support tech teams, so I can keep an eye on what conversations people are having.”
          • Buffer – for scheduling tweets.
          • Other Resources
            • People that Alexis admires – Richard Branson, Robert Kiyosaki from Rich Dad, Poor Dad
            • Books
              • Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod – essentially sets out six activities for you to do every morning.
              • Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
              • Live It by Jairek Robbins – Alexis says “in the book it says to identify your perfect day, because the more you bring that to life in your head, the closer you’ll get to actually achieving it in your life”.
              • How Will You Measure Your Life? – Clayton M. Christensen – one of the things he highlights is that he went to a very reputable university, and as he went to the reunions he saw that initially people were extremely successful. After about the fourth decade of reunions or whatever, suddenly some of them are on their own and lost their relationships, some are in prison, and some have lost it all, some have committed suicide, and so on. He just reflects on the fact that intelligence doesn’t prevent that. The problem is that we tend to get the goals wrong and we tend to prioritise a particular thing, so at the end of the rainbow, then the dreams will come true. I think actually you have to start living the dream now.
              • Tips
                • Eat that Frog – Brian Tracy ie doing the worst thing you need to get done on a day in the morning so that it’s out of the way.
                • “I’ve got it as part of my visioning in the morning that I make sure that I have gone to bed before eleven.”
                • From Think and Grow Rich – “invent a council of people who you would almost like as coaches, alive or dead, that you know enough, perhaps by reading their autobiographies or knowing them through basically whatever, that you can almost give yourself advice through their lens.”
                • “What could I meaningfully do today/this week/this month to achieve that?” Using this question on a short and long term basis to ensure that work is meaningful and taking you to wherever you plan to be, rather than just ‘being busy’.
                • Relative prioritisation is really important; what is most important at any given time.
                • Time blocking on your calendar to achieve tasks and reach goals
                • Planning and ensuring that the right stuff gets done so that there is no ‘guilt’ of not achieving what needs to be done.
                • Exercise “baking it into my life. It’s not trying to have it as this crazy add on and decide, “Oh, I’m going to run in the mornings even though I don’t want to. I’m going to go to the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but then feel fed up that I’m not seeing my family. Instead, it’s built into my life that it’s just part of it now.”
                • “If I realise I’ve had a really inefficient day, I’ve not eaten that frog, I’ve not done the exercise or whatever, if I catch it I will talk to myself out loud. I think it’s like a pattern break, which I believe comes from the world of NLP, and Derren Brown, and so on. ‘Alexis, you haven’t done anything productive this morning…’.”

                  • Simon Jordan: Google Calendar, Timetrade, and Inspirational Tips

The late Simon Jordan was a coach, mentor, branding, and design consultant and founder of Simon Jordan Marketing. He worked with coaches and consultants internationally to help them to build profitable and powerful brands that make a difference in the world.

We lost Simon just before Christmas 2021. It was a shock as he was always so lively and full of energy. About ten years ago Simon lived with us for a few weeks between houses. We were close and I miss him loads. It was lovely to hear his voice again though when I listened back. This is the first show I did with him; there was another closer to his death that you can listen to here.

Google Calendar, Timetrade, Pinterest and Inspirational Tips from Simon Jordan of SimonJordan.com

Listen Below and Here’s What We Recommended:
                    Tools & Apps
                    • Simon uses his Get More Done Today system to stay organised and get stuff done. It’s a day planner, with the planning completed the night before, free to download.
                    • Google Calendar – for diary scheduling and planning
                    • Google Translate – as he lives in France and is learning the language!
                    • TimeTrade – to allow people to schedule calls and meetings automatically into his diary
                    • Simon uses his iPhone extensively to run his business – even from the side of the lake!
                    • Pinterest – to search for inspiration or motivation to find ideas and people to connect with
                    • Tips
                      • Charity – Silver Line – Simon regularly volunteers through this charity, speaking with lonely people
                      • Simon tries to exercise most mornings, outside. “Gets the blood pumping and it’s my time”
                      • He recommends no tech for the last hour before bed
                      • Simon eats a good quality clean diet and is vegan
                      • “I only work four days a week now, every Wednesday is family time because the kids’ school is closed on a Wednesday. April and I down tools and we spend the day. It’s good, because you’re still more productive. You’re just as productive on the other days, in fact you’re probably more productive because you know you’ve only got four days, so it’s good. When I started using this system, I think I got more done in three hours focused work than I did in two days. It’s phenomenal how much time you waste, especially on social media.
                      • When it’s all ‘going wrong’ “I have to think, in a day’s time, a week’s time, will it really matter? No, not really. What can you do? If you can’t fix it right now, don’t give it too much energy”.
                      • “Gratitude is the language of the truly rich. When you come from that place, energy flows.”
                      • “I only check my emails at 10 o’clock in the morning and at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.”
                      • Time blocking is key in managing Simon’s diary, scheduling blocks of time in for the week in advance, like for coaching or other projects
                      • “I love the line that Jim Rohn wrote, don’t wish it was easier, wish that you were better’.
                      • “I love the line, true success is knowing that someone else has breathed more easily because you’ve been there.”

Cindy Bidar works with 7-figure marketing teams and numerous profitable online businesses to set up and manage marketing and sales funnels.

Through training programmes and coaching, she helps clients scale their business by assisting them to create automated systems that improve conversion rates and increase sales.

Cindy’s company has been entirely online in one guise or another for the last nine years, and she enjoys helping her clients put their marketing on autopilot and carve out time away from their desks.

Cindy joins me today to discuss how she made the transition from a traditional office-based role into entrepreneurship.

She dives into the philosophy of taking opportunities as they appear and how that has benefited the development of her business. She discusses what it’s like to work with her husband and shares the tools she uses to automate different processes that keep her business running smoothly.

Cindy also shares what she does with her precious time away from her desk and how she uses this time to refocus if she has a day full of frustrations.

“Work on the tasks which are in your zone of genius and let other people do what they are really good at”

Nick joins me today to share how he helps people find their purpose by uncovering their fears and aligning their intentions with their passions. He discusses why we should be working consistently to achieve our goals.

He shares his insights on the importance of recognising and avoiding succumbing to fear-based thinking and understanding the implications of the amygdala hijack ‘Fight, Flight or Freeze’ response.

                              • Susan Stutzel: The Art of the Intentional ‘No’

Susan Stutzel is a CPA and Mindset & Productivity Coach.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Coe College. Following a successful corporate career, she started her own CPA business.

Using her own experiences of balancing a busy home life and business, she became a certified coach.

Susan is passionate about helping women work less so they can live a life they love.

Susan works with professional women and CPAs through one-on-one coaching, group sessions, and training.

She helps clients go from overwhelm to success by finding their voice and rebuilding their expectations and habits.

Today, Susan joins me to share her story of the inspiration behind starting her coaching and CPA companies and how she balances her busy home life while running two businesses.

She shares how she structures her day and why being able to say ‘no’ is an essential skill for everyone.

Susan highlights the importance of creating your own definition of success and the tools she uses to manage her everyday tasks.

She also shares why she is a big advocate of delegating and why daily rituals are essential for creating the right mindset.

“We really have to be intentional with our ‘Yes’ so that we can be intentional with our ‘No.’”

                              • Madeleine Black: Broken and Unbroken

In March 2018, Madeleine Black won the Amazing Strength award at the No. 1 Magazine Amazing Women Awards and, in October of the same year, was asked to be the Patron for Say Women, the Scottish organisation that supports survivors of sexual abuse.

She is a TEDx speaker, a storyteller for The Forgiveness Project, and has recently become involved with their programme RESTORE, sharing her story in prisons. Madeleine recognises that she was a victim of a crime that left her silent for many years but has now found her voice and intends to use it, not just for her, but for so many who can’t find theirs yet.

Madeleine joins me today to discuss why she eventually decided to share her story of sexual violence publicly and let go of what she saw as her shame.

She explains how she uses her experience to help others and how her memoir, Unbroken, and her talks can help others realise that it isn’t healthy to hide or fight trauma. She shows that with work, it is possible to have a fulfilled life.

Madeleine also shares why she decided to leave her job as a psychotherapist behind and make being a full-time speaker her primary role.

“When we don’t speak out, we hold ourselves back.”

                              • Kim Ades: How Your Mindset and Emotional Resilience Affects Your Goals

Kim Ades is the Founder of Frame of Mind Coaching and an expert in the field of thought mastery.

She has coached respected business leaders across a variety of fields. Kim uses her experience as an entrepreneur and a unique philosophy to help her clients shift their thinking to yield extraordinary results in their business and personal lives.

Kim is an author and keynote speaker who has been featured at the World Business and Executive Coach Summit amongst other prestigious events and is the founder of JournalEngine Software, a popular journalling tool for entrepreneurs.

Kim joins me today to discuss her coaching philosophy and why your mindset is so critical in achieving your goals. She shares her enthusiasm for the processes of reflection and self-awareness as a business leader and highlights the relationship between emotional resilience and your goals as an entrepreneur.

Kim also shares the reason she doesn’t recommend seeking a work/life balance and why entrepreneurs should instead focus on managing the highs and lows of life.

“Emotional resilience is the ability to get back up from adversity – and that requires the type of thinking that is significantly different from the average population.”
