During this collective experience we are all living through, as parents and carers, we've had the unique opportunity to play an active role in our children's education. This brought new insights, some good, some not so good.

With this in mind, we felt it was important to have a conversation about a topic that touches us all, the Role of Education in our Society.

Joining me in this conversation is leading Education Expert Margo Hobba and Australian Design Icon, Mary Featherston AM. Two long-time friends with a deep passion for Education.

In our conversation we discuss how one of the most important social fabrics of our society has not seen big transformation since the industrial revolution, how children learn best and the missing piece that could perhaps be the driving force for much needed change.

To have these two amazing women on STORY, sharing their wisdom as experts in this field, is indeed very special.

In this episode, I'm talking with Artist, Illustrator, Bianca Loiacono. Bianca is more than an illustrator. I call her a visual interpreter, almost like speaking a language but through her own unique stroke. Bianca has overcome some big personal challenges, choosing to use her struggle to create something beautiful.

I've learned so much from just watching Bianca, how she lives her life, her interactions with others and how she responds to struggle when it arises. Teachers come in many forms and for me, Bianca is one of these teachers in my life.

In our conversation, Bianca, shares about the shame she carried within her as she lived through a 10 year eating disorder, how she uses failure as a process of growth and the importance of 'commitment' and 'grace' as guiding principals to living life.

In this episode I'm talking with the inspiring, Darren Mort, 2019's and 2020's Barrister of the Year Finalist and 2019's Social Entrepreneur of the Year.

After serving 30 years on the Family Law Bar Association and being a member of the Family Violence Task force Committee reporting directly to the Royal Commission, Darren was inspired to start producing books and films that highlighted some of our society's deep issues and provide some of the forgotten victims, the children, a voice.

In 2017, Darren produced Degree of Separation, a film that tells the story of Troy as he navigates his life under the ever-present cloud of domestic violence. He also Authored 'Tommy & Tiger Terry', a book that tells the story of a separated household from the eyes of a little boy called Tommy. A compelling book for children and parents and a useful resource for any separated family to assist children to make sense of it all. The book recently Premiered as a short film titled TOMMY. A powerful, raw and beautifully produced film. TOMMY has already received 10 international awards since its recent Premiere.

In our chat Darren shares about he's own personal experience, growing up in a home where domestic and physical violence were ever present and how he has chosen to continue to serve the community by using the power of the arts to give children a voice.

In this episode I am talking with International lawyer Naomi Seddon, a fellow Aussie who now calls LA her home. A wife and mother of two beautiful twin girls, Naomi is a partner of Littler Mendelson. An expert in cross boarder global issues, Naomi was named as one of the top lawyers in the United States in the Legal 500 Awards. Qualified in Australia, NZ, USA and soon in the UK, it's fair to say, this is one lawyer you want by your side!⁣

Since 2017, Naomi and her husband David, have also been fighting to regulate surrogacy law. A deep personal challenge that's had Naomi and her family on unpredictable grown since the birth of their twins.⁣

In our conversation, Naomi shares personal insights and learnings when she was forced to move to the US to escape domestic violence, the pain in staring her family, fighting for her rights as the legal guardian of her daughters, to corporate life were Naomi shares why we are not even close to achieving work place equality. ⁣
