Your Google Ads dashboard shows 40 conversions, but your sales team reports only two customers. What happened to everyone else?
In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down the gap between generating leads and winning paying customers. A phone click, form submission, or quote request tells you someone took action—but understanding what happens next is where the real work begins.
We explore how conversion definitions, lead quality, sales follow-up, and booking friction affect your results. You’ll also learn why your CRM matters: connecting each inquiry to its campaign, tracking progress through the sales process, and feeding qualified leads and actual revenue back into Google Ads.
Plus, we compare two campaigns spending the same $2,000. One produces 40 leads and two customers; the other generates 20 leads and four customers. The second campaign delivers a lower advertising cost per customer, but longer sales cycles mean the comparison can change as more leads close.
In this episode:
Getting the inquiry is only the beginning. Understanding which leads become customers—and why others don’t—is how you make better advertising and sales decisions.

How much are you willing to spend chasing a client before you start questioning the return?
In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes shares his frustrations with Upwork and how his experience on the platform has changed since launching his agency in 2022. From platform fees to Connects and the disappointment of proposals that go nowhere, he explores what client acquisition really costs freelancers and agency owners.
Beyond the frustration is a bigger business question: could that time, money, and energy do more for your own brand?
Yousaf discusses building relationships through referrals, cold outreach, paid advertising, LinkedIn, YouTube, and podcasting. He also shares why showing your face and talking about your work can open doors—even when putting yourself out there feels uncomfortable.
In this episode:
How platform costs can eat into the value of winning a client.
Why proposal spending deserves the same scrutiny as an advertising budget.
The risk of relying on one marketplace for new business.
Ways to build visibility and generate opportunities beyond Upwork.
Why being proud of your business means letting people see it.
If you’re a PPC freelancer, media buyer, or agency owner questioning what you’re getting back from your prospecting spend, this episode will give you plenty to think about.

Strong sales numbers don’t always mean strong profits. What actually remains after product costs, fulfillment, shipping, and advertising?
In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down PROAS—profit return on ad spend—and explains why advertisers need to understand the economics behind the results they report.
We walk through how COGS and other included costs affect returns, including an example where a campaign generating 4X ROAS leaves five times more money after advertising than one generating 6X ROAS.
You’ll learn:
Plus, we discuss why reporting profitability and optimizing toward it are separate steps: Reporting tells you what happened. The values used for bidding help determine what the platform pursues next.
Before increasing your ad budget, look beyond what you sold. Understand what those sales left you.

Your ads generated $10,000 in sales on $2,000 in ad spend. That’s a 5X ROAS—but how much money does your business actually keep?
In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down cost of goods sold (COGS), gross profit, and why strong advertising results don’t always translate into strong business profits.
We walk through a simple example: $10,000 in net sales, minus $4,000 in COGS, leaves $6,000 in gross profit. Subtract $2,000 in ad spend and a $2,000 agency retainer, and just $2,000 remains before any additional expenses.
You’ll learn:
What COGS means and why ad spend and agency retainers are separate marketing expenses.
How discounts, free shipping, refunds, and returns can reduce what you keep.
Why two businesses can achieve the same ROAS and have very different profits.
How product margins, order value, and operating costs should shape advertising targets.
Why identifying products with stronger margins matters before increasing your budget.
Whether you’re a business owner, media buyer, or agency operator, this episode will help you look beyond reported revenue and ask better questions about profitability.
Before you scale, understand what it costs to sell and fulfill an order—and what remains afterward.

In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down Customer Acquisition Cost, or CAC, and why it’s one of the most important numbers in performance marketing.
CAC sounds simple: take your marketing spend and divide it by the number of first-time customers. But the real challenge is figuring out who those new customers actually are and which marketing channel deserves credit for bringing them in.
Yousaf explains the difference between CAC and CPA, along with blended CAC, channel CAC and campaign CAC. He also discusses why Shopify, your CRM or another first-party source should be your source of truth instead of blindly trusting what Google Ads or Meta reports.
The episode also gets into one of the biggest attribution problems in digital marketing: first-click CAC vs. last-click CAC.
A customer might discover your brand through Meta, leave the site, search for your company on Google days later and purchase through a Google ad. Google may have captured the sale, but Meta may have created the demand in the first place.
That’s why understanding the complete customer journey — and properly using UTMs — can give you a much clearer picture of what your advertising is actually doing.

In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down one of the most common questions in Google Ads: how many conversions does a campaign really need before you can trust automated bidding?
The old-school rule was 30 conversions in 30 days. Yousaf explains why he no longer treats that as a hard requirement and why 15–20 primary conversions over 30 days can still be a strong starting point for a newer campaign.
He also covers why purchases and qualified leads matter more than simply generating add-to-carts or initiated checkouts, how to identify where a funnel is choking, and when it makes sense to move from Max Clicks into Max Conversions.
Yousaf also shares a real example where a campaign was generating plenty of add-to-carts but struggling to produce sales. The problem wasn’t necessarily Google Ads — expensive shipping and a three-week delivery window were killing the conversion rate.
Other topics include account-level conversion history, Smart Bidding, Max Clicks, Max Conversions, conversion tracking, Enhanced Conversions, Shopify tracking, GA4, GTM, CPA, ROAS, and why Yousaf Yunes checks conversion tracking before, during, and after a campaign launch.
PPC with YRV Dynamics is hosted by Yousaf Yunes, founder of YRV Dynamics, covering Google Ads, PPC, paid media, performance marketing, ecommerce and real-world campaign management.

There are more people than ever trying to break into paid advertising — and plenty of courses promising to get you there fast.
In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down a program promising to help people land their first paid Meta Ads client in just four weeks.
The problem? Much of the training appears to focus on video editing and creative production rather than actually learning how to manage paid media.
Yousaf discusses the difference between creating ads and actually knowing how to buy media, including campaign structure, audiences, acquisition, remarketing, retargeting, optimization, and understanding why campaigns perform the way they do.
He also looks at some of the bigger promises being made to beginners, the contradictions that can show up in marketing these programs, and why learning paid ads isn't something you should expect to master overnight.
If you're trying to get into PPC, Meta Ads, media buying, or performance marketing, this episode is a reminder to understand exactly what you're paying to learn — and whether it actually prepares you to manage a client's advertising budget.

In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes discusses questions from someone’s performance marketing interview and shares how he would approach answering them based on practical experience.
The interview covered a range of important topics, including campaign management, conversion tracking, funnel analysis, creative testing, audience targeting and performance optimization.
Yousaf Yunes breaks down the questions and explains why performance marketing involves more than simply launching campaigns and monitoring metrics such as clicks, CTR and CPC. A strong performance marketer also needs to understand what happens after the click, including whether conversions are being tracked correctly, where users are dropping out of the funnel and which parts of the customer journey may be affecting results.
The discussion also covers metrics such as add-to-cart, initiate checkout, CPA, ROAS and conversion rate, along with the importance of reviewing landing pages, product feeds, offers, shipping costs and creative assets.
Yousaf Yunes also compares the signals available in Google Ads and Meta Ads, discusses how to approach campaign scaling and explains why testing is important before moving new creative into evergreen campaigns.
Overall, this episode provides a practical breakdown of the performance marketing interview questions someone was asked and highlights the broader skills required to manage campaigns effectively.

In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, I break down a question that a lot of agency owners and buyers are going to be asking in 2026: Is buying a digital marketing agency still a smart investment with AI changing SEO and marketing so quickly?
The agency in question generates roughly $2 million in revenue, with about 85% coming from recurring retainers, serving mostly local SMBs, home service companies, contractors, and real estate businesses. A major concern is that roughly half of the agency's revenue comes from SEO retainers.
I discuss why traditional SEO is changing rather than disappearing, including the move toward AEO and GEO, local authority, community involvement, PR, reviews, and becoming the business that AI engines actually recommend.
I also look at what I would personally examine before buying an agency: client longevity, recurring revenue, year-over-year performance, margins, pricing, churn, and whether the agency's biggest clients are likely to stay after ownership changes.
The bigger takeaway: AI is a tool, not a replacement for experienced marketers. The agencies that combine human expertise with AI instead of trying to replace expertise with AI may actually become more valuable.

When Google Ads ROAS suddenly drops, the worst thing you can do is start changing everything without knowing what actually caused it.
In this episode of PPC with YRV Dynamics, Yousaf Yunes breaks down the key areas he checks when performance starts slipping — from conversion tracking and revenue reporting to CPCs, search terms, conversion rates, AOV, margins, product mix, and recent campaign changes.
Yousaf also explains why search term reporting is becoming more important as match types continue to broaden, why a great ROAS can still hide bad margins, and why product images, headlines, and descriptions can have a bigger impact than advertisers realize.
Most importantly, sometimes the right optimization is not making another change. Give the data enough time to tell you whether you have a real problem or simply a bad week before pulling another lever.
