Thank you for joining me today on episode three of the Practical Preppers Podcast. Today, I share with you which items my family specifically keeps in our pantry to use on both a daily basis as well as when sh.t hits the fan. Carbs, proteins, and fats are all necessary to our diets for us to be healthy. There are plenty of vegetarian options that are versatile and shelf stable for years that make practical goods to keep on hand.
Legumes: Shelf stable for years, packed with protein, carbs, and fiber.
Rice: Shelf stable for years, packed with filling carbs,
Wheat berries: Shelf stable for years, pacled with carbs, protein, and fiber.
Oils: Fats are necessary. Ghee, oilive oil, mustards oil, and many other oils are shelf stable for years.
Produce: Some produce keeps for months when properly stored and can add valuable nutrients and fiber to one's diet.
Animals: Chickens, ducks, and geese will give you eggs. Of course, you could eat them along with other farm animals you might keep.
