Sweet summertime. A time to soak in the sun, feel the grass on our toes, and unwind.
It’s also a fabulous time to pause, reflect, and integrate all we’ve learned so far in 2022.
Why? Because reflection is powerful. It helps clear the clutter and the noise and helps you focus on what’s important to you now.
We all have different voices in our head – a shamer, an inner critic, maybe even a dreamer – following us through life and giving their two cents on our every move. Let’s call them our inner team.
Our instinct is to squash these team members. But what would be possible if we took the time to get to know them instead? What is the wisdom they hold? How can we work with these team members now?
We create these team members somewhere along our journey in order to protect ourselves. And while we might not need them to do that anymore, we can still source their wisdom in ways that serve our leadership now.
Your inner work starts with setting healthy boundaries in your relationships.
Boundaries are expectations and needs that help you feel safe and comfortable in your relationships, according to Nedra Glover Tawwab.
Simply put, they help you prioritize self-care and allow your leadership to thrive.

Receiving feedback isn’t easy. It can be difficult to take criticism from others – even if it’s coming from a constructive place.
But just like giving feedback to others allows us to move forward in relationship with others, allowing yourself to receive that feedback does the same.
To receive feedback with curiosity, understanding, and self-compassion you need to do your own work, advocate for what you need, have a growth mindset, and integrate what you learned.

Being able to effectively provide feedback is an incredibly important leadership skill that needs to be cultivated. Why? So we can create healthy dialogue that allows us to effectively move forward in relationship with each other and get the work done.
So how do you do it? Do your own work, frame up the conversation, listen with compassion, and create actions that allow for accountability.

The average employee spends more than two hours per day on drama.
Yup. You read that right.
So how do we prevent this? How do we create aligned teams that are built on trust, clear communication, and shared goals?
Design an alliance with your team that defines how you work so that you can do the work.

We’re all entering into unchartered territory.
As we return to work – whether that’s in-person, remote, or hybrid – we can’t go back to the way things were in February 2020. We’ve all had challenges and learnings over the past two years. Our priorities, desires, and mindsets have all changed.
And while that might feel scary, I challenge you to join me in a stance of opportunity and optimism.
We find ourselves now in the midst of a great reset. We have the chance to intentionally design how we work to best support our needs now. Let’s make the most of it.

In the past two years, we’ve all experienced a massive shift.
We’ve had to change the way we live and operate to adapt to the changing tides.
Now, as people begin to reintegrate into society and head back into the office, we find ourselves in a moment in time where we have the opportunity – or perhaps the requirement – to change the way we do things based on what we need right now.
Life doesn’t look the same as it did in February 2020. Our work shouldn’t either.
This week on the podcast, I’m joined once again by Jason Doiron, co-owner of O Strategies, to talk about the company’s experiment of holding four-day workweeks.
The result? Increased engagement, efficiency, and mental health benefits.

Designing meetings will make them meaningful, increase engagement, and enhance efficiency. Not exactly news – but do you do it?
Meetings can be tedious. Boring. You can find yourself and others fading, attempting to multitask, stressed to get real work done, or wondering how time could be used more effectively.
In a time where we are redesigning how we work together – meetings need attention. What are the meetings that could be an email? That could be digital? That require us to be in person to cultivate connection and trust? Where are meetings that deliver information, versus ones where we dive deep into creative tension and ideate?
In this episode, I’m joined by Jason Doiron, co-owner of O Strategies, to explore how to have more meaningful meetings.

We’re all chasing what’s already within us. Confidence.
This week, I’m thrilled to be joined by mindset coach Kirstin Battista to explore how to draw out the confident being that lives in all of us.
Confidence looks and feels different for everybody. Tapping into it is a practice that has the power to change your life.
