  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 074
Welcome to Episode 74 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

We’ve arrived! Welcome to 2022 and the beginning of the 4th season for the Prestabilis: Excellence in Marketing podcast series. In Episode 74 I share the concept of empowerment and of becoming empowered to live the life you want and deserve each day. Learn from my experiences and fast track your success in every area of your life.
I want you to feel empowered today… and every day. The definition of empower is “to give someone the authority or power to do something; to make someone stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights.”
It took me until age 50 to step into the light and live an empowered life. I achieved this by leaving a job – classroom teaching – and a career as a real estate broker and appraiser to come online as an entrepreneur. I have no regrets about waiting so long, as everything unfolds once we are open to receiving it. There are three top strategies to help you move closer to an empowered life and they include…

    * Writing – Every day, I want you to write! This includes blog posts, outlines, emails to your prospects, clients, and potential joint venture partners. Also, write short reports and white papers to show others who you are and what you know. Finally, write a book to solidify your expertise in your niche, and follow that up with additional books over time. Writing is crucial to our process of standing out from the crowd by sharing what we know and believe. Reach out to me if you’re interested in coming aboard for my “10 Week Author” program. Recent posts on my three blogs are at:

    “Podcasting: What’s a Podcast” is at https://connieragengreen.com/podcasting-whats-a-podcast/

    * Speaking – I was the reluctant speaker, but once I got past my fears and insecurities you can’t get the microphone away from me. Speak about yourself and your topic to anyone who will listen. I began by speaking at my Rotary Club and I continue to recommend service organizations as a way to break in to speaking. Now I speak all over the world, in person and virtually on a variety of topics.
    * Masterminding – Connecting with others for the sole purpose of reaching your full potential is crucial to life success. Find a Mastermind group to join, or start your own by inviting thought leaders to connect with you in this way. I have a group called the Incubator Mastermind that may be of interest to you.

Hopefully, you can see that what I’m sharing with on each podcast will make a difference for you as you build and grow your business as an entrepreneur, author, and marketer. Make sure to think of marketing as a priority and get into the habit of sharing your best ideas and resources with the people who are on their way to becoming your raving fans! I’m always just an email away at conniegreenhouse at yahoo dot com if you’d like to connect with me. I promise to help you keep it simple while you grow your online business.

Welcome to Episode 73 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

Welcome to 2022 and the beginning of the 4th season for the Prestabilis: Excellence in Marketing podcast series. In Episode 73 I share the concept of going outside of your niche, field, and industry for ideas on how you can disrupt the marketplace and set yourself apart from everyone else. I use the examples of the real estate industry, something I was a part of for more than twenty years before starting my online business.
I also share the example of writing for film or television, where stories are thought out in “beats”, where each beat represents a storytelling moment. I’ve now repurposed this concept to information product creation, where each “beat” represents an integral part of the process.
My experience with disrupting the marketplace came when I was a new online entrepreneur and asked the people on my list to reply to my email messages. This was the beginning of my journey with relationship marketing and everything I was able to achieve as a result.
You can find and discover many new ideas for your online business, by exploring other industries and niches.
Compartmentalization is an area I discuss here as well, where you file away a situation that has occurred in your life to a special area of your brain. This enables you to carry on, while not forgetting about or ignoring the situation you’ll need to revisit from time to time.
The pandemic may be an area of your life where compartmentalization may serve as a means for you to carry on your day to day life, while still addressing the people and situations that need your full attention in the moment.
Having an online business is a gift from God and the universe and something that I am thankful for each day. I urge you to consider earning at least part-time income from a home-based business and know that I am more than happy to assist you in getting started and growing a business as an online entrepreneur, author, and marketer. These are the areas I focus on each day so that I am able to give my attention to the tasks and activities that are important in my business:

    * Writing – Every day, I want you to write! This includes blog posts, outlines, emails to your prospects, clients, and potential joint venture partners. Also, write short reports and white papers to show others who you are and what you know. Finally, write a book to solidify your expertise in your niche, and follow that up with additional books over time. I began by speaking at my Rotary Club and I continue to recommend service organizations as a way to break in to speaking. Now I speak all over the world, in person and virtually on a variety of topics.
    * Leading – Leadership is an area I want you to embrace and pursue. We are all natural leaders, but many times this doesn’t come to light until and unless there is a crisis of some kind. Instead, look for opportunities to step forward and lead others to achieve their own greatness and worth. Community involvement is an excellent way to address issues you care about in a way that brings out your leadership instincts.
    * Transparency – One thing I absolutely love about the internet is how it paves the way for all of us to be transparent. When I first came online with my business in 2006, I “Googled” myself to see what was there. I found a testimonial I had given for a real estate training I’d completed the year before,

Welcome to Episode 72 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

It’s the end of 2021 and time for the “New Rules for Online Marketing” for 2022! I’m also celebrating three full years of hosting this podcast, my third since coming online in 2006. Let’s move on to the “new rules” as I see them for entrepreneurs, authors, and marketers.
We’re in a new stage of life as we head into 2022. The pandemic brought issues to light on a variety of subjects and topics, but the changes were already in the air. Life is always in a state of flux and chaos and I’ve written extensively about entropy for entrepreneurs. We must do things differently if we are to expect different, and more desirable results going forward.
I want you to focus on increasing your credibility and visibility as you move forward in your business. The marketplace is more saturated than ever, in every niche imaginable and it’s up to you and me to set ourselves apart so that we are perceived as the best solution for our target audience’s  problems and struggles. These are the four strategies I use and am suggesting for you…

* Transparency – One thing I absolutely love about the internet is how it paves the way for all of us to be transparent. When I first came online with my business in 2006, I “Googled” myself to see what was there. I found a testimonial I had given for a real estate training I’d completed the year before, as well as the interview Parade magazine had conducted with me about my experiences as a classroom teacher in the inner city of Los Angeles. I understood at that moment that everything I said and did could be found on the internet, immediately or eventually. It’s up to us to make sure we are transparent in every way, and to use this as a way for people to find us online and perhaps do business with us.

Welcome to Episode 71 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

It’s nearing the end of 2021, the time of year when we review and reflect on what we have experienced during the previous year. I like to choose a “word of the year”, as I’ve done for over a decade now. I also choose several words, and even a phrase or sentence that sums up what I will be focusing on in the new year.
For 2022, my word is “choice” and I believe this has powerful implications. My group of words is “choice – creativity – energy – confidence. My sentence/phrase for 2022 is “I make choices that allow my creativity to flow and my confidence to continually grow.”
We’ve been through almost two years that are almost unprecedented, at least in recent history. It’s time to step back, take a deep breathe, and decide how we wish to proceed going forward. I like to think about the concept and topic of lifestyle design and what it entails.
The truth is that we can have anything we want as a part of our life experience. Begin by deciding what your ideal or perfect day would look like and build upon your ideas from there.
My goals include being able to motivate, inspire, and encourage others to great success as they reach their full potential, both personally and professionally.

Are you writing? Perhaps you’re ready to set up a blog or get started using Medium to syndicate your content.
Who will help you? Are you working on strategies or tactics for your life and business? Again, what is the one thing, the single most important item on your list to accomplish as soon as possible? Keep these things in mind…

    * Don’t wait to be picked or chosen… Ship!
    * You already have what it takes… Step forward!
    * People want and need what you have to offer… Pull back the curtain and reveal yourself!
    * You are an artist and a creative… there are NO rules and you won’t be reprimanded for making a mistake.

Did you know that entrepreneurs are three times as likely to be dyslexic or have some degree of ADHD. I chose to embrace these traits in myself when I came online in 2006 and know this has helped me to achieve more goals than I ever could have imagined!
The ONLY thing holding you back is YOU! Take full responsibility for everything that occurs or has occurred in your life and watch what happens. I promise you that you will not be able to go back to who you were before, and this is a great feeling. Read the two books I mentioned above and get started with the rest of your life.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 070
Welcome to Episode 70 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

I’m coming up on three years of hosting this podcast show. I record episodes twice a month and discuss various aspects of excellence in marketing. Thank you in advance for subscribing to this podcast and for leaving me an honest review. In episode 70 the topic is “Working Smarter, Not Harder” in terms of your life and business.
Recently, I was consulting with someone who has been working exclusively online for longer than I’ve been an entrepreneur. At some point she made the comment that her goal and intention was to work smarter, not harder in her business going forward into the new year. I quickly agreed with her and we did not discuss the topic any further. It wasn’t until our webinar had ended that I began to think about what is meant by this phrase that is common to people in all walks of life.
When I began my business in 2006, I realized very quickly that I would need to start writing in order to achieve my financial goals, as well as to build my credibility and gain massive visibility on the internet. Though I’d wanted to be a writer since I was very young, I hadn’t actually spent much time writing. Even during the twenty years I worked as a classroom teacher, teaching writing and working closely with students of all ages on improving and editing their writing, I did almost no writing of my own.
So I began writing every day, with the goal of completing a 250 word article. I would first publish this as a blog post on one of my dozen blogs I was hosting at that time, and then submit the same writing to the article directories for additional views and traffic back to my sites.
It was a difficult process for me every day. I couldn’t even think about how to work smarter with my writing because I hadn’t yet worked hard in this area. But I was consistent and persevered and it didn’t take long before the writing was not only an easier process for me, but also the writing itself had improved. This is the blog post I published long ago on how to write using the five (5) paragraph model.
I used these concepts and principles to become a bestselling author, to create information products, courses, and other programs, and to become a respected international speaker.
No matter what goals you have for yourself, you must first be willing to put in the hard work to then transition into being able to work smarter. You’ll be glad you did, I promise.
    Leadership…
Accountability – Not only do you need to understand how to take responsibility when needed, but you also, as a leader, need to understand how to hold others accountable too ethically and fairly.
Assertiveness – You must learn how to say no, or yes when it’s the right thing to do and express your fact-based opinions confidently. Part of being a leader is other people’s perception of you as a leader. If the people around you believe you and know you’ll stand up for them and your causes, the perception is you’re a good leader.
Communication – Knowing how to talk, listen, and when to do both is a skill a good leader processes and a skill you can learn. The more you learn about the process of communication, the more you can add to your leadership skill set.
Ethical – Doing the right thing, regardless of what others think, is what a strong leader does. They have a strong awareness of their morals, values, and principles and make decisions that demonstrate them.
Focused – A good leader knows when and how to get things done. They pay close attention to details and don’t allow distractions to lower the quality of their work or slow them down.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 069
Welcome to Episode 69 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

In episode 69 the topic is “eCourses to build and grow your business.” I’ve created an eCourse on the topic of leadership, and I’m using it as an example for what I am teaching during this podcast episode.
An eCourse is an electronic course, presented as a series of short lessons on a topic of interest to your target audience. Leadership, like time management, productivity, and many others, is a topic that is almost universal to people throughout the world. This gives you the opportunity to connect with prospects and build an ongoing relationship based on what you are offering.
Once I chose leadership as the topic of this new eCourse, I began to outline the information I wanted to share. I thought past the initial impact my eCourse lessons would have on someone interested in knowing more about leadership, and on to what would be possible for those who took the time and made the effort to become leaders in their chosen fields.
Personally, I had never thought of myself as a leader until I became a school teacher at the age of thirty. It was my first school administrator who tapped me to lead a committee of teachers in the area of technology. I ended up writing a grant that put three computers in my 5th/6th grade classroom, something that was extremely rare in 1987.
This principal, Sue Shannon, made it possible for me to shine in the areas I was most interested in and passionate about. She thrust me into the role of a leader and I went on to achieve many goals based on her guidance and the faith she had in me.
Effective leadership requires a host of skills that you can learn, such as:
Honesty – Despite how it sometimes seems in the media, a good leader knows how to be truthful and doesn’t try to hide the truth from their audience.
Open-Mindedness – A good leader knows that they don’t know what they don’t know and may not even know what questions to ask about what they don’t know. Therefore, they keep an open mind and pay close attention to facts as they reveal themselves to change course if needed.
Organized – Don’t worry. Even if you aren’t naturally organized, you really can learn to improve your organizational skills. But even if you can’t keep your home uncluttered, you can learn how to manage all your work using the tools of the trade.
Relationship Builder – Due to their understanding of themselves, human nature, and conflict resolution, a good leader is an effective relationship builder both at work and personally.
Reliable – If a good leader tells you they will do something, they always do. You can trust them at their word. But this is also why they are not afraid to say no because they’re not saying yes...

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 068
Welcome to Episode 68 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

In episode 68 the topic is “Consistency… in regards to short-term profits or long-term legacy. I’m talking about the importance of being willing to do the work and put in the time every day to reach, achieve, and even surpass your goals.
I use the example of my writing as a starting point. I was not a writer when I came online in 2006. Every day I wrote a short – 250 word – article that was first published on my blog and then to the article directories that were popular at that time. This writing was good enough to get me started and in the spring of 2006 someone clicked on a link I had included and purchased an affiliate product for $37. My commission was $21.60 and it felt like a lottery win to me at the time. This small success encouraged me to keep going and to stay consistent with my writing.
Those short and simple articles written during my first few years online led to blogging on three separate sites these days, as well as to my full-length books.
Four years later I published my first book, Huge Profits with a Tiny List: 50 Ways to Use Relationship Marketing to Increase Your Bottom Line and now I’m about to publish my 25th book next week.
I began my intermittent fasting practice in March of 2020 and did not lose any weight for a few weeks. But I believed in the people who were leading and guiding me with this, as well as the practice itself. I’ve now had miraculous results and it’s all because of the consistency with which I have continued my IF practice.
Social media is another example I’ll share with you where consistency continues to pay off for me in terms of visibility, credibility, and profitability. In its infancy in 2006, social media finally took off as a strategy to connect and stay connected with people all over the planet, quickly and easily. I put in the time and learned how to navigate the waters and these days my rule for social media is “Get in, get out, and get back to work!” in no more than fifteen minutes each day. I now teach what has become my longest running live training program, Syndication Optimization that teaches you how to use social media platforms to syndicate your content and build a following.
Novelist Harper Lee published To Kill a Mockingbird in 1960 and it was made into a film before she was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in literature. She had such great success that it deterred her from being consistent with her writing. This is what Lee had to say about this in 1964:
“I never expected any sort of success with Mockingbird. I was hoping for a quick and merciful death at the hands of the reviewers, but at the same time I sort of hoped someone would like it enough to give me encouragement. Public encouragement. I hoped for a little, as I said, but I got rather a whole lot, and in some ways this was just about as frightening as the quick, merciful death I’d expected.
I want you to have a modicum of success, but not great success early on. This will be enough to encourage you and help you stay on course. Great success is down the road and will arrive, but only after you work for it day in and day out. Be consistent with everything you do, and make a commitment with your consistency.
Perhaps you’re ready to set up a blog or get started using Medium to syndicate your content.

Welcome to Episode 66 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

In episode 66 I discuss…  “How to be the best You that you can be!” I’ve been online since 2006 and during that time have learned some things about how to make great progress in life and business. Believe in yourself and all things are possible!
Two quotes stand out to me in regards to “bettering your best”:

    * “You must do the things you think you cannot do.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
    * “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” ~ Marianne Williamson

In 2009 I entered a contest to “Better My Best.” Throughout that year, I worked hard and focused on improving every little thing I could. It wasn’t long before I realized that even if I did not win the grand prize of twenty-five thousand dollars in cash, I had already won simply by looking at my life and business differently. I DID win, and wrote about my experiences during that time in a post entitled “Sleeping on a Cloud.”
Choose an area of expertise and then do everything you can to be the best that you can be. Whether you came from humble beginnings or had everything you wanted and needed early on, either way you have choices. Learn, teach, serve others, create, and grow to become the best YOU that you can possibly be. Our time on earth is short; refuse to settle for less than you want and never, ever phone it in! You ARE more powerful beyond measure and can achieve any goal you want to take on in your life.
If you want to level up your life: Drink more water. Eat healthy food. Help more people. Exercise daily. Strive for greatness. Lift more weights. Set great goals. Walk more often. Add plenty of value. Do the work. Focus on results… And you’ll realize great success!!

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 065
Welcome to Episode 65 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing

In episode 65 the question is…  What skills do I need to become a successful entrepreneur?” I’ve been online since 2006 and during that time I’ve determined that some skills are necessary, and others can be outsourced.
The four things I do almost every day include:

    * Writing – email messages, blog posts, books, social media updates, and more.
    * Creating – products, courses, short reports, marketing campaigns, and more.
    * Marketing – this is the basis for all sales, so I think of it as the most important skill for your business. Learn to love marketing, and your income will skyrocket!
    * Mentoring/Learning – I’ve always considered myself to be a mentor and never related to coaching. The word mentor means teacher and this describes my approach to mentoring online. Also, I spend time learning what I need to as a part of my business. The idea here is to outsource what you can to others, and not spend precious time with learning everything in that area.

There are also skills like technology, clerical tasks, information product creation, and teaching that you must decide how to approach to achieve your goals, online or offline. I will also add the softer skills here, such as consistency, perseverance, focus, and maintaining a positive attitude.
