Dearly beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. Now the child of God here is to publish His praises. In what way? You show forth His praises by not manifesting the works of the flesh. Then he says: Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. May our lives reflect something of this glorious, wonderful gospel.
