  • Episode 3906: Leftists seek to stop enforcement of laws instead of working to change laws they don’t like – Pratt on Texas 1/27/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Governor Abbott has said that ICE needs to “re-calibrate” after Minnesota problems. That may or may not be true but this is certainly naive of Abbott: “to make sure that respect is going to be re-instilled.” Since when has the modern activist Left had any respect for law enforcement when it enforces laws on the books with which leftists disagree?

That brings us the more important fundamentals of the issue expressed as well by Daniel McCarthy at The Spectator: The unspoken logic of the anti-ICE mob.

  • Episode 3905: Early Voting lawsuit ignores purpose of early voting | Talarico as extreme Left as Crocked Crockett – Pratt on Texas 1/26/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: The AFL-CIO hosted debate between the two Democrats running for U.S. Senate, Jasmine ‘Crocked’ Crockett and Little Jimmy Talarico, showed that both are equally extreme Leftists – Talarico is not even a smidgen more moderate than big-mouthed Crocked.

Devil-head James Carville wants Crockett out because she actually admits to her radicalism and that’s bad at the polls. Carville likes Talarico because he, like him and his boy Clinton, is comfortable misleading voters about who he really is and what he believes.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

Dallas Fed: Texas factory activity expanded solidly in January.

A Leftwing lawsuit filed against Leftwing Harris County over closing Early Voting for two days due to weather, in the TX18 special election runoff, demonstrates the truth of the Slippery Slope argument and why some good ideas need opposing because of what such will become.

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Dr. John Lott has done some of the research for which is is famous (and hated by the Left) on ICE enforcement which shows the current media narrative to be false propaganda. He compares Obama’s ICE record versus that of Trump’s: How Trump’s ICE enforcement record blows Obama’s out of the water— by a lot.

    • Episode 3902: Quorum-breaking Texas Dems fined $9,354 each | HD88’s King is the conservative bill killer of 2025 – Pratt on Texas 1/21/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Finally, on the even of the primary elections, Texas House leadership issues fines to Democrats for breaking quorum last summer ($9,354.25 each.) This should have been done in September; doing it now is actually a campaign gift from the insiders to the Democrat incumbents up for re-election as well as for some weak Republicans. I explain.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

After oral argument, full Fifth Circuit “wary” of Ten Commandments laws’ challengers. As expected.

HD88’s Ken King (the casino gambling lobby’s man in NW Texas) did more to stop mainstream conservative legislation than anyone in the House this past year. Why did Burrows give him such a powerful committee to run knowing he’s a Straus anti-conservative? To get elected Speaker of course!

WFAA: “Protesters in Fort Worth decry recent ICE arrests, cite fears for personal freedoms.” This has to be among the most shallow, clueless, and plainly stupid quotes from these type people yet: “…we’re just people who love our country, and we don’t want to see it taken away from us.” Well, it isn’t the country of those here illegally and how does anyone not see that accepting millions upon million of illegal aliens into our country isn’t itself giving away our country?!

    • Episode 3900: Gary Boren spitting nails over Lubbock’s “expo center” debacle | Paxton says Cornyn let DEI grow in Tx – Pratt on Texas 1/19/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Lubbock’s “Expo Center” has continued to be a project of questionable foundation and looks to some to be a full blown scandal. Today we visit with Gary Boren, a member of the local government corporation setup as an oversight body. Boren is spitting nails mad over the lack of transparency from those spending taxpayer money on the privately organized project.  See to recent stories:

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issues a Legal Opinion dismantling DEI in Texas, declaring decades’ of DEI frameworks — memorialized in over 100 woke state laws — unconstitutional and overruling a flawed opinion from then-AG John Cornyn that allowed DEI to flourish in Texas.

      • Episode 3899: Another sports betting scandal is a warning | Reitz fundraising story is amazing in AG race – Pratt on Texas 1/16/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: The proverbial “slippery sloap” is real; only the willfully ignorant claim otherwise. Expanding sports betting is leading to scandal after scandal including a new one this week. Texans must stand strong and oppose the incremental expansion of gambling in the Lone Star State lest they find everything corrupted by the “gaming” industry.

Former Abilene Christian University basketball player indicted in federal point shaving scheme.

Two big campaign fundraising stories are remarkable. First, is just how much money Governor Abbott has and yet people keep giving big amounts. Second, GOP attorney general candidate Aaron Reitz isn’t being hyperbolic in saying what his campaign has done is unheard of – from zero to hero in a Texas political fundraising sense.

Baker Hughes’ oil and gas drilling rig count for the week.

Lubbock data center proposal heads to city council after planning commission rejection. Industrial things are in this area because that’s where most of the zoning is for such and has historically been so. City Council should approve this deal if for no other reason that that Adam Hernandez is against it. The first half of my life in Lubbock it was a constant mantra for NE Lubbock Democrats that “investment is going elsewhere and we need jobs in the area” then, in the last decade and a half it has been “you are harming us by putting jobs in the area.”

      • Episode 3898: Senate race polling in Texas | Nation-damaging hypocrisy from Dems on enforcing immigration law – Pratt on Texas 1/15/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: While illegal aliens in Texas are costing hospitals (ultimately that means you) well in excess of a BILLION dollars per year, Democrats and others harp on healthcare costs. These same Democrats are vehemently opposed to removing illegal aliens by enforcing longstanding U.S. immigration law. It’s all hypocritical in the worst way.

Crocked Crockett wants Secretary Noem impeached for doing her job while saying the reason is the Noem is a failure at doing her job. Very little of this is serious discussion about improving our nation, it’s just ridiculous attack after attack to destabilize our nation.
