Sen. Mike Lee: Schumer And McConnell Want Senators To Pass Their $106B Border Bill Without Reading It? Hell No! That and much more from the border crisis including how Lefties, like at the Austin-American Statesman, report from a perspective of fear when regular Americans gather and protest but then celebrate when the lawless, radicals protest with violence, arson, and worse.

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: It weakens our arguments on the border crisis when our Texas officials, and others, spin, mislead, overstate, or just get fact wrong on the border issue. From the beginning Governor Abbott, for example, has made it appear to millions, in television interviews, that Operation Lone Star, costing Texas taxpayers billions, was deterring illegal boarder crossing and much more. In reality the problem has grown worse during all of that spending with zero effective deterrence. We are beginning to make headway with the American people in the national political battle over the border crisis and it is time all speak plainly and truthfully about what is happening. Otherwise we hand our opponents easy ammunition to attack our credibility. Here is a perfect example: Randy Clark: ‘Texas Border Showdown’ Wrought with Political Spin and Misinformation.

HD2 special election last night was a straight up proxy fight for the coming GOP primary. The Speaker and his TLR bankroll won, barely, but it shows that in this low voter turnout primary (no real top of ballot races to pull in voters) that conservative challengers will lose many contests if they do not fully focus on authentic get out THEIR vote – and to do so you first must identify YOUR vote.
Yesterday the Texas Supreme Court heard argument over the Texas bill banning child sex modification.

Our Lone Star story of the day: The Texas Supreme Court held oral argument today on the Public Utility Commission of Texas’ actions during the big freeze of 2021. There are strong arguments for Luminant’s case, the plaintiff, and also against it. The real issue is whether Texas is to have a market based electric grid or a politician controlled grid. Two stories that will give you a good idea of what is at stake and what happened in court:

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: The Washington, DC border bill talk is exemplary of how most career politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, think alike, wrongly. To them it’s always “pass a bill” but passing bills is often no solution to problems at all. What matters is what is in the bills and what those laws do but that is always of secondary interest to swamp-swimmers. Their interest is in solving, not the border problem, but the political problem that stems from the border crisis. As with most issues, they want to “pass a bill” so that it temporarily takes the issue off of the political burner for whatever election is upcoming. Some stories used in today’s lesson:

Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: Contraction again.
Like RINO Rep. Glenn Rogers, San Angelo’s longtime RINO state Rep. Drew Darby caught lying to voters claiming Abbott’s endorsement when, in fact, Abbott endorsed his opponent Stormy Bradley. And in the Rogers campaign, a school principal backer shows why we need the clampdown on people using public resources for electioneering.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Conservative activist groups get a big win at the Texas Seventh Court of Appeals for voters over a misleading Texas Constitutional Amendment item passed by voters in 2021. Much for the Texas vs. Biden Administration border standoff. Just remember this: It’s a real standoff on the legal issue of a state repelling an invasion but all the rest is just the same old expensive but non-effective border security theater.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Once again we are reminded of how ludicrous is the nature of the Democratic Party’s importation, illegally, of millions of people. Not only do they get to come in while avoiding the legal pathways for immigration into the United States, they get all kinds of privileges that do not extend to U.S. citizens including in areas of national security: Biden admin lets illegal immigrants fly without valid ID and even opt-out of having their photograph taken by TSA!
