This study begins with the heartfelt prayer of Hannah, the future mother of the prophet Samuel—the man who would anoint David as king. At a time when Israel was spiritually depraved and given over to paganism, Hannah, though burdened by barrenness, chose to worship and trust in God. In response to her faith, God blessed her with a child whom He appointed as a future leader of Israel.
