Mental illnesses are among the most common health conditions in the United States. More than 50% of Americans will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime. And during the last 18 months, every statistic I’ve seen indicates that things have gotten much worse.

We’ve started another school year in what we’d hoped would be normal conditions. But, as Covid classes surge, and more students are affected, nothing seems normal yet. Teachers and staff are struggling with many of the same responses to their work as the health care workers we prayed for last week. So, today, we’re praying all things “back to school.”
