Praying the Lauds - Your Daily Christian Morning Prayer

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - April 13, 2022 | Holy Wednesday

Jesus' love for us sinners, as well as His submission to His Father, led Him to the great Sacrifice on the Cross. He takes upon Himself the sufferings of those He comes to cure! Today, we end the official Lenten period with the treachery of Judas, who made a bargain with the high priest to betray Jesus for 30 silver pieces. Tomorrow we enter into the Holy Triduum, the three great liturgical days: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - April 12, 2022 | Holy Tuesday

"By His wounds you are healed." - 1Peter 2:24

Jesus was led to His crucifixion like a gentle lamb to the slaughter. He did not retaliate at the insults hurled at him, nor did he counter evil with threats, but entrusted himself to the just judge.

If you find yourself on the same road, continue walking and finding comfort that Jesus is walking with you... and with Christ, His Body, the Church.

Join us in offering to the Lord our sacrifice of praise. Let us keep praying the Lauds. Full-text to Tuesday's Morning Prayer is available at ibreviary.com

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - April 11, 2022 | Holy Monday

"Jesus said: My heart is nearly broken with sorrow; stay here and keep watch with me."

In these sacred days of the week, we fix our eyes on Jesus, broken for love of us, inviting us to love Him in return. As we gaze at Him, we remember to pray for all our suffering brothers and sisters that they may be strengthened and consoled in their time of need and that we too may persevere in remaining with Jesus to the very end.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - April 7, 2022 | Thursday of the Fifth Week of Lent

The liturgy of these days during Lent brings us closer to the fundamental mystery of our Faith -- the Resurrection of the Lord. We will not be able to share in Our Lord's Resurrection unless we unite ourselves with him in his Passion and death. So let us accompany Jesus, in our prayers, along his painful way to Calvary and his death on the cross. As we do so, let us not forget that we too contribute to all those horrors, for Jesus bore the burden of our sins, each and every one of them.

We ask the Lord for the grace of contrition and conversion as we offer to Him our Morning Prayer. Text for Thursday's Lauds is available at ibreviary.com. This daily podcast is brought to you by the Cebu Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communication. Available on Anchor, Spotify and Google.
