Jesus was grieved by the hardness of heart of the Pharisees. Are you a little stubborn? Do you get so stuck in your own beliefs that you can't even imagine being wrong sometimes? Are there people you've had arguments with that you still haven't made peace with? Remember, forgiveness is a powerful act of healing, both for yourself and for those around you.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - January 21, 2025 |Memorial of St. Agnes, Virgin and Martyr

Sometimes, when we get caught up in the rules, we forget the heart of the matter. It's easy to focus on the letter of the law, but we can miss the spirit of why it was created in the first place. A good law should always aim to help people, to make life better for everyone.
Jesus talked about freedom – freedom from fear, from burdens that weigh us down, from getting stuck in rules that don't actually serve us. He reminded us that the law is meant to guide us toward love and compassion, not to trap us in a cage of rigid rules.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - January 20, 2025 |2nd Week in Ordinary Time

Life is full of surprises, unexpected twists and turns. Sometimes, we find ourselves in situations that feel completely unfamiliar, even uncomfortable. So, the real test of our faith is how we respond in those moments.

Do we cling tightly to what we know, even if it doesn't quite fit the circumstances? Or are we willing to be flexible, to adapt our approach to the unique needs of the situation?

It's about finding that balance between holding firm to our beliefs and being open to new ways of living out our faith in the world. It's about being adaptable, not rigid, so that our faith can truly thrive in every season of life.

  • Morning Prayer -FRIDAY, 17 January 2025 |Memorial of St. Anthony, Abbot

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - January 17, 2025 |Memorial of St. Anthony, Abbot

Anthony was born into an affluent Catholic family and raised in a small village in southern Egypt along with his younger sister. His life took a dramatic turn when his parents passed away suddenly, leaving him with a significant inheritance and the responsibility of caring for his sister. One day, while attending Mass, Anthony heard the Gospel passage where Jesus instructed the rich young man to sell his possessions and give to the poor to achieve perfection (Matthew 19:21). These words struck a chord within Anthony, prompting him to selflessly give away most of his belongings, sell the rest, and retain only what was necessary for his and his sister's well-being. Although he didn't follow the command to sell everything, Anthony's actions reflected his deep commitment to living out Jesus' teachings in his own unique way.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - January 16, 2025 |1st Week in Ordinary Time

Sin not only wounds our souls but also damages our relationships. Harshness, judgment, sarcasm, and other hurtful behaviors can create distance and pain in our interactions with others. Jesus longs to heal these wounds and restore our relationships. He invites us to come to Him, confessing our sins and seeking His cleansing grace. This act of repentance, especially within the Sacrament of Reconciliation, allows Him to work within us, transforming our hearts and strengthening our relationships.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - January 15, 2025 |1st Week in Ordinary Time

The forces of darkness are real, but they are no match for the truth and wisdom of God. Their lies and deceptions are ultimately weak and foolish in the face of His power. Remember, God's presence is a constant source of strength and guidance. Just as Jesus rebuked the temptations of the devil, we too must confront the lies and temptations that seek to mislead us. We must not allow their half-truths to confuse or control us. Instead, we must stand firm in the truth, claiming the authority that comes from God to silence their whispers and resist their influence. With God by our side, we are never alone in this battle.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - January 14, 2025 |1st Week in Ordinary Time

The forces of darkness are constantly at work in the world, seeking to undermine truth and goodness. Be aware of the situations and people in your life where God's truth is challenged or rejected. It is in these very moments that Jesus wants to empower you to confront evil, to speak truth, and to claim His authority over darkness. This power comes through prayer and deep trust in God's strength. Don't be afraid to allow God to use you to stand against evil and bring His light into the world.
