LISTEN | Morning Prayer - September 23, 2023 | 24th Week in Ordinary Time

“The most beautiful act of faith is the one made in darkness, in sacrifice, and with extreme effort.”-Padre Pio

When we think our heart has stones and thorns that prevent us from growing in faith, we can ask the help of the Holy Spirit to remove those stones and thorns. Like a farmer who cultivates his farm and care his plants tenderly, we can do the same and make our life a good soil. By constantly listening to the Word of God and living its message to the best of our ability, we will surely bear fruit and yield a great harvest.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - September 21, 2023 | Feast of Saint Matthew, Apostle and Evangelist

How satisfied you are with your life?

If it is not our Lord Who occupies your mind, heart and every desire, then you can expect that you will experience discontentment in life. In that case, look to the witness of Saint Matthew. He is a saint today because he responded to Jesus’ invitation to abandon his life of sin and greed so as to follow Him in poverty. But in that worldly poverty and abandonment of earthly things, Saint Matthew became abundantly rich and will remain so forever in Heaven. (https://catholic-daily-reflections.com)

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - September 19, 2023 | Memorial of Saints Andrew Kim Taegon, Priest and Paul Chong Hasang and their Companions, Martyrs

Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and enter into his glory?…Luke 24:26

The death of the martyrs is similar to the death of Christ on the Cross because like His, theirs has become the beginning of new life. This new life was manifested not only in themselves – in those who underwent death for Christ – but it was also extended to others. It became the leaven of the Church as the living community of disciples and witnesses to Jesus Christ “The blood of martyrs is the seed of Christians”: this phrase from the first centuries of Christianity is confirmed before our eyes.”…St Pope John Paul on the occasion of the Canonisation of the Korean Martyrs (1984)

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - September 19, 2023 | 24th Week in Ordinary Time

Who is it that God wants you to notice and to feel compassion for?

As your empathetic heart notices those who need your compassion, open yourself, also, to the supernatural gift of hope. Have divine hope that God will heal them. As you do, allow that hope to manifest faith in God and offer that compassion, hope and faith to God as your prayer for those who are in need.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - September 18, 2023 | 24th Week in Ordinary Time

“Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Therefore, I did not consider myself worthy to come to you; but say the word and let my servant be healed.” Luke 7:6–7

What is it that you need to pray for in your life right now?

Praying to our Lord, through the intercession of a saint, is a way of also saying that you know Jesus’ response to you is pure mercy on His part. And the good news is that Jesus deeply desires to shower His mercy when we humble ourselves before Him, especially by coming to Him through the mediation of the saints.
