Praying the Lauds - Your Daily Christian Morning Prayer

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - September 15, 2023 |Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows

Virgin of all virgins best,

Listen to my fond request:

Let me share thy grief divine.

(From the Stabat Mater)

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Immaculate Mother of God, who didst endure a martyrdom of love and grief, beholding the sufferings and sorrows of Jesus! Thou didst co-operate in the benefit of my redemption by thy innumerable afflictions and by offering to the Eternal Father His only-begotten Son as a holocaust and victim of propitiation for my sins. I thank thee for the unspeakable love which led thee to deprive thyself of the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus, true God and true Man, to save me, a sinner. Oh! make use of the unfailing intercession of thy sorrows with the Father and the Son, that I may steadfastly amend my life and never again crucify my loving Redeemer by new sins; arid that, persevering till death in His grace, I may obtain eternal life through the merits of His Cross and Passion. ~Prayer by Saint Bridget of Sweden

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - September 09, 2023 | Memorial of St. Peter Claver, Priest

Do you seek rest and refreshment in the Lord and in the celebration of the Lord's Day?

All who are burdened can find true rest and refreshment in him. When we receive his body and blood in the Holy Eucharist, the Lord Jesus refreshes and sustains us. By his life-giving word, he showed us how to lift the burden of others, especially those who lack the basic necessities.

In Jesus, we can find our comfort and succour, strength and courage to live our Christian life in today's competitive, busy and noisy world. He brings solace to our body, mind, and spirit. He is the compassionate saviour who makes himself available in our weariness and weakness. We need to find the time and place for personal communion with him.
