Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth.” But Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” John 1:45–46What is it in your life that seems confusing to you in regard to your life or in regard to the many truths of our faith? If we bring our confusion to our Lord in faith and openness, all will be made clear. 16 min - Morning Prayer - WEDNESDAY, 23 August 2023 Memorial of St. Rose of Lima, Virgin
LISTEN | Morning Prayer - August 23, 2023 | Wednesday 20th Week in Ordinary Time
"Lord, increase my sufferings, and with them increase Your love in my heart…Apart from the cross there is no other ladder by which we may get to Heaven." ~Saint Rose of Lima
Penance is good, but it takes great holiness to discover this mysterious and deep truth. The “good life” is not one that is filled with worldly successes, riches, or honors, but is discovered only in an act of divine union. Furthermore, those who make the biggest difference in this world for the good are those who radically and completely give themselves over to the service of God, holding nothing back, so that God can take to Himself all that they are.

And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be to me, according to your word.” Luke 1:38
“More than all the angels and all the saints has God ineffable freely endowed Mary with the fullness of the heavenly gifts that abound in the divine treasury and she, preserving herself ever immaculately clean, from the slightest taint of sin, attained a fullness of innocence and holiness, so great, as to be unthinkable apart from God Himself, a fullness that no one other than God will ever possess.”…Venerable Pope Pius XII (1876-1958) – Excerpted from Ad Caeli Reginam

What are the idols in your life?
Worship of idols is an expression of the weakness of every human heart that longs for power, might, wealth, sex, and freedom, from moral obligation. Woshipping these idols only temporarily fulfills these yearnings and desires, just as they do in our modern world. Worshipping the one true God has its moral obligations and it disciplines our wild heart from going astry. In worshipping the one true God we will have peace and joy that no amount of money can buy.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for such belongs the kingdom of heaven." Mark 10:14
The greatest thing we can do for children is to give them tender love. We must share our faith with our children, pray with them, as well as for them. We must bless them with the sign of the cross on their foreheads as they go off to school and when they come back.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - August 18, 2023 | Friday, 19th Week in Ordinary Time
God gave us the freedom to marry or not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of heaven. Marriage is sacred. What God has joined together, no one must separate. May we keep an open heart and mind to God’s grace. He alone can satisfy our desire for companionship. He alone can give us the wisdom to understand what is best for us.

“How many times should we forgive those who offended us?"
Often we do forgive, but in some situations forgiveness becomes a tough challenge. God is so merciful to us, we ought to appreciate his mercy by forgiving our brothers and sisters.

LISTEN | Morning Prayer - August 16, 2023 | Memorial of St. Rock (Roque),
Healer
He was the son of the governor of Montpellier in France. At the age of 20 he went on a pilgrimage to Rome. When a plague broke out in Italy he took care of the infected and cured many. He himself caught the disease, but not wishing to be a burden to others, he went to the woods to die. There a dog brought him food and licked his sores. Later its owner found Rock and looked after him. He died around the year 1378. He is a model of those who carry out works of mercy, and is invoked in time of pestilence.14 min - Morning Prayer - TUESDAY, 15 August 2023

“God's temple was opened. And a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars" (Revelation 11:19; 12:1)
Collect:
"Almighty ever-living God, who assumed the Immaculate Virgin Mary, the Mother of your Son, body and soul into heavenly glory, grant, we pray, that, always attentive to the things that are above, we may merit to be sharers of her glory. Through our Lord."
